[New test photos released] Leica Summicron 35/2 Eight Element copy made in China

Mine is a silver 245/500 with V1LC and Chinese writing next to it. Lens has amber coating.

Raid, on a M9, even amber coated replica lens can at times (depending on lighting conditions) throw a blue cast. Part of that is typical of the M9 spectral response and some I suspect may be due to the lens's particular glass that's employed.

My lens has a strong blue/violet coating, not unlike my very early Summaron 35mm f/2.8 (the one that also can be used on LTM-cameras). I don't know how it reproduces the colors because I only work in B+W.

You are right. I get a similar cast with a Pentax-M 50/1.4 on the M9.
My lens has an amber coating. My lens is 194/500 with V1LC and Chinese writing.
I set the M9 to Auto lens recognition. Is it best to set it manually to Summicron 35/2?

Out of a bit more curiosity, has anyone got a lens serial number without a '4' in it?

Mine is chrome 461/998 V2LC and same Chinese characters.

You are right. I get a similar cast with a Pentax-M 50/1.3 on the M9.

Raid, I'll have to do some more in-depth testing with regards as to what to code the replica lens when using it on a M9. I quickly tried both Summicron 35mm f2 as well as the 21mm f2.8 pre asph coding. This particular 21mm coding is well known as being extremely useful with a variety of wide angle lenses used on the M9 to reduce vignetting. So far both codings appeared to be similar but the test was quick and dirty and needs to be repeated.

Why would you get a partial refund, for what?

In an e-mail he wrote that he charges $100 for shipping and then refunds the difference, because of some system where he can't really calculate shipping costs in advance somehow.

Kevin is sent a monthly bill by the shipping company with an itemised list. This allows him to determine the final shipping cost and refund due, minus any insurance you may also choose, beyond what might be covered in the standard shipping.

Our transaction took a couple of tries because Paypal took out fees that were hard to see from my end. The first amount I transferred was immediately refunded (actually not even accepted).

I'm grateful to Kevin for this ongoing individual attention supporting each purchaser. He'll be buying himself a beer or two at my request out of some of the postage refund.

Anyone know how far along on the list outgoing orders are?

Having been following this thread for some time on and off, I 'd written to Kevin with interest in March (?) and he told me he'd place me on the list and let me know when a new batch would be produced. I wrote him back just this past week to let him know i was still interested. He responded that he definitely would keep my place for one but didn't provide a date for delivery.

I am wondering now that I've been reading up here, if there are VllLC lenses already out there, is the next batch then VIIILC? I'm also wondering whether as I've read, flint glass will be an optional upgrade. It sounds like that is up in the air based on availability.

Thanks Raid, Charles, Erik, Steve, Shawn and others who have been posting images. It's nice to see these!
