Sorry if this has been posted before, I couldn't find it...
The "new" stealth edition Monochrom. I think it's the coolest edition Leica has done in a while, but I think it could be improved if the glow in the dark lettering was black in daylight rather that white (not that I would've bought it anyway).

If you want to make your own, I have some Super Luminova luminous watch pigment I can lend you. I actually thought about doing this on my chrome-plated Fuji G690BL, but in that context, it's not quite as weird.![]()
I might call you on that one. Please tell us about these luminous paints.

Leica should have taken the extreme stealth path and made the camera in the shape of a mobile phone; no one seems to give a monkey’s if someone whips out a phone to take a shot but the second a camera appears, barriers tend to put up.
Not for me. But seriously, I like the concept, especially the cross-hatch knurling on the lens.

Yeah, I would have though a thread about the “new” monochrom would be in the monochrom forum, but I’m obviously wrong.

if i were rich with stupid money, i'd buy this camera and beat the hell out of it with use. i'd do the same thing to collector cars. they were designed and built to be used hard.
Exactly.

Personally, those sort of ideas make me cringe. Pre-brassed and 'Stealth' Leicas.

AFAIK the idea of a "stealth camera" came from Life photographers who had to cover the Korean war. They ordered Nikon to make a couple of their cameras in black.
So Nikon is the stealth specialist, not Leica.
The black Nikon cameras were so "stealth" that they all disappeared.
Erik.

I'm holding out for the even more exclusive "Leica Mv Virtual Edition". So understated that it only exists in an alternate reality. Capable of taking "surreal photos with a timeless quality" and "transforming glitterati into the Artists they imagine themselves to be". It also comes with a special (non-virtual) badge that owners can wear so others know they actually own the new Leica Mv, which of course is so stealth it can't be seen. Available by cryptocurrency only.
(Full disclosure: I ..had.. an M246. Loved it! Wish it was still in my stable.)

Perhaps the next one will employ light bending technology...so all you can see is..the shutter button..and the red dot...

Couple-a-things.
First, I think it would be difficult to use the controls when you can't really read any of the engravings.
And second, instead of this camera being black-chrome, they claim it's painted with a special really dark, really flat paint. Well that's gonna look like hell once it starts brassing.
Best,
-Tim

And third. Why exactly do you need a "stealthy camera" to make photos like this?

I'd lose all of the fluorescent paint, and most of the markings altogether. Maybe keep A on the shutter speed dial, nothing else. I'd get rid of the half stops on the aperture ring so you adjust that by feel only. Who needs depth of field markings on the lens barrel with a camera like this? I do like the knurling too. After all, they make the MD with no LCD, why molly coddle the buyer of this camera with visible markings on the controls? Maybe the LCD, if it has to have one, should be really really small with a night vision type of display. Or you have to go back to your Veyeron to read the images sent WiFi to that machine's LCD.
And, TIm, maybe there's more to wheat than we currently know.....

No need. Besides, the dolts who drive AAA trucks would probably do more harm than good.
It always started – even after sitting idle during the winter months. I did go through three sets of batteries (they have one behind each headlight) over ~15 years.
It never broke on public roads. I did suffer a clutch-cable failure on a race track though.
But I cheated.
I did preventive maintenance for tasks within my limited abilities and left the rest to mechanics who specialized in vintage Porsches. This was more expensive than AAA.

If I had the money, I would buy it in a heartbeat, and I would use it until it was worn up. I wish every camera looked like that.
