New Year's Resolution: This year, it's FILM

More time in the darkroom, especially doing alternate processing. 2013 seemed to be taken with elderly parents, but now I'm free of that (not that I minded doing the best for them. They certainly did for me.)

I'm not going to buy any equipment in 2014. I'm also going to shoot the entire year on BW film, using my M rangefinder (I'm mixing films to use up what I have in stock: about 30 rolls Arista Premium, 30 rolls Neopan 400, 15 rolls 400TX, and a few odds and ends).

Though I had not realized it until this second month of the year, it is turning out to be a year of slide film for me.

Growing up as only a snapshot shooter, I fully embraced digital in 2001 and returned to film in 2009. From 2009 through 2011, my focus was on black and white photography. 2012 and 2013 was C41. For this year, my focus is on the late Provia 400x pushed to 1600 for night photography and Velvia 100 / and the late E100VS for daytime.

I will challenge myself a little further into the year by purchasing a Leica M3/M4 and go meterless. Until then, I'll be shooting on my M6TTL and Nikon FM2.
