Have a good time, folks!
I'm in the middle of moving everything out of storage into my new apartment in Philly. I hope to make the fashion show next month though! I may have a monster ready to show off.

I just finished making the focusing helicoid for my Plus-X-Pan camera.
I have to dremel off a few aluminum tabs then use JB Weld to epoxy the back end of a Nikon lens flange and it will be done on the focusing side.
Then I'll drill a hole in the front of the camera where the two stereo lenses once resided. I may actually just use a plate of aluminum since the original front plate or standard, has two offset holes in it which I'll have to clumsily black out with something. Anyway, once I get the front of the camera drilled, I can work on putting the thing back together and then all I have to do is find a lens. I think a 55mm Mamiya is a little wide but if I find one, I'll definitely go for it. Seeing as I love the Super Angulon, I'm looking for another 65mm f/8 as it's very compact and will fit perfectly in this new helicoid.
Sorry to derail! Back to your meetup discussion!

Well, I was excited for it but I couldn't make it out on account of some friends surprise visit.
Today was actually not bad weather (I know that was the hold up for some).
Hope to see you all next months.

It was fun to stop by Puck Fair -- $5 for a superb bloody Mary -- 3 olives. We later went to Foley Square to shoot at the No Pants Event -- where I learned that I make bad faces when taking a photo I don't like or really wish to take, but take anyway because I'm already committed to taking it. That was funny. Evidently, as John G pointing out I looked really disgusted. He was right, I was. I feel more committed when I go for a low angle and am kneeling on cold concrete. On the bright side, there were many really good photo ops later in the event. Which goes to show, that when you love photography, a good photo op really does make you happy -- at least for 1/125th of a second.

It was mostly just 20 somethings standing around in groups looking cold.
Dan, where did you end up getting lucky? We were at Union Sq and that was a bust as was the 6 train.

John, when they were dividing the crowd into 5 or so groups, it was very hard to decide which group to follow. I ran over to each group and tried to see which had a better mix of girls and guys and in general interesting looking people. None of the groups seemed any better than the other. Then I tried considering the various train lines. I kind of felt the 1 would be a good line -- local and with more stops. In the end I decided to "follow the leader" -- the leader being Charlie Todd. I got a few really good shots. Developing the film right now. The scene inside the Union Sq station was pretty good too.
