Well-known
next year at this time, late October, what would the camera market be like. here are some speculations.
-the Nikon D7000 would have completely killed the sales of any other Nikon DSLR that came before it, except D3/3s. a Nikon D300 would sell second hand for around $700, D200, for less than $400, and D60 probably at $100.
-Sony would have lunched the successor to NEX 5, which would have a viewfinder built-in (probably EVF), faster operation and even higher ISO performance. this will kill the market for Canon G series P&S cameras so canon have to react or lose high-end portable camera/p&s market. there is already no reason to buy a G12 when NEX 5 is almost the same price range.
-Fuji X100 would be forgotten by most, because Fuji X200 would offer interchangeable lens mount, higher ISO performance and black bodies.
-Leica M8 would sell for less than $1000 used, because CV would have announced their own full frame DRF, with a shutter cocking mechanism that will work like film advance lever (just like RD1 - an RF without the film advance action is just not the same).
-Panasonic GF2 would be the dark horse that would steal the show. it will function as fast as a DSLR. it will be released along with extreme wideangle lenses, even upto 18mm equivalent. Its sensor would also be bigger and perform at even higher ISO.
thats all for now...
