Hi,

I recenty bought a Nikon f2 with dp1... the DP1 doesn't work properly...

the needle move but the results are not correct. es. when my other working meter give iso800 f2 1/15 the dp-1 gives: 1/125 or 250 as correct exposure...

I also noticed that the meter work, measure also when there is a cap on the lens (i mean give the same result)...

I tried to adjust the sensitivty of the meter but nothing has happen...

Any help? I am not afraid of opening it and try to repair it by myself... (i didn't pay big money for it;)

Ciao!

Well, what does it do? If the (non-zero) reading is irrelevant of the lens cap being on or off, that is a bit worse than anything a wrong setting can do, and the meter will be broken.

If there is no reading with the lens cap on, and a wrong (but non-zero) one with it off, check first whether your batteries are good and whether the lens coupler pin is engaged in the prong on the lens and the scale (on the meter front) shows the full open aperture of the lens. You did test it with a lens with "rabbit ears" prong, and know how to couple them?

Adding to sevo's comment--when mounting a lens, you have to set the lens aperture to 5.6 to engage the meter coupling pin, and after the lens is mounted, rotate the aperture back and forth to insure the correct setting. You may already know that---:)
Good luck--the DP1s are great when they are working...
Paul
