Nikon F - bugging issue

I have this tiny issue. No big deal, but maybe someone here knows the cure:

The frame counter is rotating quite freely.
If I tighten the set screw on it, the winding lever is not coming back after winding.
more generally, I find the winding lever to be on the weak side.

Any idea?

Right, sorry, I meant the set screwS
So it's a feature of the later models? (mine has the black tipped lever)
Is it ok that the winding action is much weaker than on an F2? (I thought that might be part of the problem)
