I picked up these items at a local flea market today. I know the hood is for the 50mm f/1.4 rf lens but what is the other item?

It has the external tangs possibly a bayonet and internal threads. The threads are too large in diameter for a LTM.

It's a rear lens cap to a longer lens, 85, 105, 135, 3rd party. I'm not 100% sure as I do not have my kit near me, but I think so.

Great find, no question about it. The hood is hard to find, the rear lens cap is handy. I always glue two together back to back so I can change lenses faster (only having two hand).

Bill, your answer is right, but i suppose the rear cap isn't 3rd party, but the real Nikon one, it seem a non sense but the 3rd party is the plastic one with Nippon Kogaku KK Japan marked on it.
Steve.

Looks like a genuine Nikon S-mount rear lens cap (earlier type) for telephoto lenses to me too!

Rotoloni's latest book has many photos of the later type plastic Nippon Kogaku KK marked caps, so I would say that they are also genuine Nikon products.

I have two or three of these caps, acquired with a Contax version 85/2 Nikkor and an S-Mount 135/3.5 Nikkor.

Looks like the real deal, although not other wise marked

Does anybody know the reason for internal threads? As stated the threads are too large in diameter for the LTM.

There are no internal threads inside the Nikon caps!!

I believe someone modified this cap!! did you try it on a Pentax screw-mount lens??

The threads are to big for the M42 also but a series VI retaining ring will screw onto it..
