Noctilux Photos

I like your work Matt! Very nice.

I also like the Noctilux very much for it's tonality and rendering, but not for it's black corners.

Erik.

Thanks Erik, I think the noctilux like most good lenses requires extra attention and care of exposure and use of seeing and reading the light to make this lens sing when it's opened up full. When opened to normal apertures it performs beautifully as well. The black corners are often mimicked by digital users, and I think it all boils down to personal preference of what pleases your own eyes, and not trying to please other peoples' eyes. Does this make sense? I love the noctilux because I love light, and what low light does and how it creates a mood, an emotion in almost anything I see.

Cheers Helen.

So my Noctilux showed up yesterday from KEH in EX plus condition. Iv shot a test roll on some fast color negative film and my focus/calibration on the M3 is dead on., the lens is sharp. Im already impressed with with Noct and have a ND filter on order help me shoot wide open. Ill post some shots next week. Thanks for all in this thread who contributed i one way or another.

Thomas, thank you ! :) Actually, I have a Durst 601 (with both heads) and could use my red-scale Elmar as enlarging lens. Unfortunately, I have no space to print anything at the moment ...
