Great day out - yes, the Real Camera Shop is really something else - an Alladin's cave. I have some serious saving-up to do before I visit that shop again - lots to tempt 😀
Found my way back to the centre and met up with family and in-laws for a meal. It was only after the meal when I got well and truly lost (every time I go to manchester !) and took Mrs PJ and daughter on an impromptu tour of industrial Manchester in the rain 🙄
Eventually found the car park with many blisters on the feet.
Weather couldn't have been better, I got sunburnt before the rain came 😀 Hope everyone else enjoyed it too.

Sorry to be late in thanking everyone for a great day out - got to Liverpool to find there were no trains home, so had to phone "her indoors" to come and get me. This meant waiting while she redistributed my son, his lady and our grandson before she came to get me 🙁
Never mind - good weather for the most part and lots of interesting toys to look at. I have now increased the length of my "wants" list by about 300% 😀
Hope to post some shots soon - if the one I took in the Real Camera Co with the 12mm turns out, that could be interesting.....

Yeah, thanks guys. Nice to meet you all and I really enjoyed the day. think I got a few good shots of the goths at Urbis. Will get mine sent off today and hpe to have them up here for all to see soon.

OK, here are my first shots, all XP2 out of date in 2006, MP with either 35mm 'cron or 12mm VC:-
In pic 1, a local bums a roll-up from BobFrance while we waited for the goths to get into action. Bob was already sufficiently occupied with learining the M6 that Vincent loaned him. He did get a protrait in return, so we want to see that.
Pic 2 shows 350D User (Dave) pondering a life-changing decision - should he buy a Kit-Kat, or just mug the wheel-chair jockey?
Pic 3 - the crew decend on the Real Camera Co. Proprietor Jem Kime is shown extreme left with a cushion up his shirt 😱 there were far too many nice toys here. The "bargain bucket" yielded some interesting stuff too...
More to come, unless the bribes start rolling in soon........

Shot 1 - A bench outside Mr Thomas's Chop House, an old-fashioned pub. We ran into a Flikr group in here, but they only seemed to speak in 0's and 1's, so we prteyy much ignored them

Good shots. They make me desperately want to get back out there and do some more shooting.
You can clearly tell on the shot of me and the guy with the hat that I was watching him like a hawk in case he tried to nick anything. And I though I was acting dead casual too!

Thanks Bob, they are only quick because it was XP2 and I could stick it through the mini-lab at Spielmans. I think these are the first B&W shots with my 35mm 'cron and I have to say I definitely prefer it to colour - so creamy. I don't see that in colour, or the "balance" of the contrast, if you see what I mean.
There will be more when I get around to the other films I shot. I'm hoping that the Technical Pan from the Standard will give some results, it's about 4 yeas out of date and may have shifted in contrast a bit. I'll probably post the remainder in my gallery with just links here.
Looking forward to seeing your shots from the M6 - I wonder if your suspicion will show through in the portrait of the smoker?

Thanks all for a great week-end "down south". Was definitely worth the trip from Glasgow.
Got back completely knackered - after trawling the city in the rain with Tom on Saturday, had a further session on my own at night (appropriately concluded by the demolishing of a chinese all-you-can-eat buffet), then up at 6am on Sunday for another 3 hours of wandering around before meeting the gang for some more walking and shooting...
Will develop film and post pictures sometime this week-end. Not expecting anything great but hopefully a few decent ones.
Did shoot a few frames at the Real Camera Co with both the Noctilux and the 35 Nokton. Don't recall ever shooting at f/1.0 or f/1.2 in my whole life prior to that! Another first for me was the 12/5.6 - never shot anything that wide before...
Thanks again to all. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Looking forward to the next meet-up.

However, if you were to turn out my stock cupboard, you would find enough FP4 (note, not +) to wind a couple of cassettes and I have some 300 feet of Kodak R60 that went out of date in 1976 - still works fine at 50asa.
Nothing wrong with old film, providing it is kept in good conditions.
I think I have some Kodak chlorobromide FB paper from the 1960's somewhere, but that's getting a bit slow and lacking contrast now, sadly.

That's a lot of walking Vincent! How many rolls of film did you go through?
The Edinburgh Festival would be a good venue for a shoot, but at this late stage getting a hotel room could be very expensive. If you can get one at all!
Just posted some of my film off to Peak, so should have somethig in a few days.
