...but i just realized that the kit i now have is working pretty darn well...
18/35/60 (28/50/90)...i know, the classic kit!

i still want to try out the 14/27 combo again on this rig but...i'm in no great rush to get there...

facinating!

That's Good to hear... Now your only Left with the Hunting, in Pursuit of 'The Shot'

Well I suppose I am there too..Finally Done, Finally Content.
A 35 for my M4... 21 & 50 for my IIIc

As for Digi, my head spins with too many Choices

I think mucking around with different cameras is all part of the hobby and should be embraced as such. Liking gear doesn't have to be mutually exclusive with producing photos.

absolutely agreed!!!

i always think it's funny when i start talking about gear and am subsequently told to go out and shoot! like i don't shoot because i like to talk about gear.

You are right fbf, I think Joe is just getting lazy and dug up an old RD1 post and substitured substitute Epson for Fuji 😛

I'm in full anti-GAS retreat mode. I found I had so much gear that some of it was sitting around unused, depreciating and bugging me. I'll still end up with a bit too much gear but a lot more focus (pun unintended) and easier decsions to make when reaching for a camera when heading out somewhere.

Not "done" but feeling a bit more content. Too many options can be stressful.

I have to concur... the 28-50-90 classic combo is called the "classic combo" for a reason! bodies come and go, but the " most appropriate" field of view never changes.

Retired.
Fixed income.

Those two things have really slowed down my GAS.

That and I realized I have far more cameras than I can possibility use.

Have it on the Contax G and seldom feel the need for anything else. ...well maybe the 21 G.

I like to try different stuff. Why is there such a stigma around here about doing such?

Some people seem to think that you cannot possibly know your equipment if you don't use the same stuff all the time. I feel most cameras are more similar to each other than different and I can go back and forth between different cameras.

Also, it seems some are just jealous of other's equipment. They see people who they deem to be unworthy of owning the equipment since those people's photos are not up to par in their eyes. However, there is no aptitude test for photography... you can simply buy into enjoying it. Enjoying it can be a focus on making photos, a focus on fondling cameras, or both.

Another aspect is that some feel there is no reason for doing something if you suck at it. And if you suck, you shouldn't be using a camera. Well, in the real world people enjoy many activities while sucking. Take sports for instance. Nobody is mad at the guy shooting hoops in his backyard if he sucks. I guess the initial attitude comes from people who believe the only reason worth doing something is fame and fortune.
