New York NYC December Meet-Up

I'm gonna be out in Vancouver, Washington at least a bit into the new year but maybe I'll give a call on the 9th while I'm having a beer at a local pub (at 10 am...) and provide a presence.
I can't wait to get back east.

Phil Forrest

You sure do get around :D. Good to hear from you phil

I'm in New Mexico right now, just for a few more days. I've been applying for a ton of jobs in the NYC area and interviewing for a few but no joy yet. I'm moving in with a friend across the river from Portland, Oregon in a few days. I expect that 2013 will find me back in the mid-Atlantic region or (hopefully) New England, if I get accepted into Brown for graduate studies.
I've lived all over this country and been to a few dozen countries around the world but the place I feel most at home, in spite of growing up in New Mexico and Colorado, is New York City. So, come hell or high water I'm going to make it back there as soon as I can.

Wishing you the best Phil.

... sound very classic Helen. For sure it will go very well with a classic film Leica (e.g. M4 Canada) but you might try it with a Monochrom as well ;).

I'll try to make it, too - to the meet-up, not my hair do that is.

Klause,

I'll bring my 35/1.8 Nikkor in LTM. I'm curious how this old but sharp single coated lens will perform on a MM. I'll bring that Leica 1.4X magnifier and 75 Lux to try also.

Then I suggest, we 2 meet a little earlier and get out shooting, not to do the 5469th shot of that ol' light bulb:D.

Im down for anything, If Klaus wants to meat up early, we hit up the Leica gallery with Ken, do some shooting before we meet up at Puck Fair..

I'm depending on mild weather that will allow me to go shoot. I may stop by the Leica gallery, but with me everthing is rather tentative.

So, are any of you going to go photographing before the meet-up? I will be either by myself or with whoever wants to.

John,

Mervyn was asking about where I get my wet printing done, and I'll be bringing some large prints (medium format) to the meet-up to show. This coming Monday I'll be picking up that shot of that bridge rack and pinion gears taken with the Plaubel.

I'll be loaded down with a bulky parcel even though its only 3 prints.

Currently I'm number 4 on the list for a MM, and now my dealer is getting 3 cameras delivered every week.

Yeah Cal, I knew you wouldn't be going out. I meant others. So I guess this means you'll avoid Curry ya at least. Your girl will appreciate not having breath lazers shot at her in the middle of the night.

Yeah, and my boss at work won't yell at me, "Your breath stinks." LOL. The strong offensive smell seems to vanish about a day later. I still love the food though. BTW it's okay to offend my boss: he's a jerk. At least if my breath smells he leaves me alone. It's biological warfare I say.

BTW his name is Howard, but sometimes I say, "How Weird," but he's such a nerd that he just does not get it. Then behind his back I mention to other people that my knickname for him is "Howard The Hemaroid" because he's a pain in the you know where. They laugh because he's a total control freak who micro-manages, but imagine how frustrated he gets with an individual like me.

Every once in a while I make him crazy, mostly because it's a lot of fun. Once we went to donate blood and a nurse told him that his blood pressure was a little high, and then he screams with anger, "It's because I have to work with him." LOL.
