New York NYC December Meet-Up

John can you bring your Fuji 35mm 1.4?

I'll try. It really depends on if I'm using it that day. I have to go from the meet-up to Long Island and will have other stuff with me, so I don't want to take too much.

The 35mm 1.4 is a first rate lens.

Shoot the Fuji and give the sigma a break:D

I though the beauty pagent was always M cameras... or did we stop that?

Last year John C. won with the black paint 2005 Nikon SP with 35/1.8. We made the rules a bit more liberal and perhaps created a bias. It the two years prior John C. was runner up and has been a great sport. I'm finally glad that he was last years champion, because it seems like he took a beating a couple of times and remained the underdog. Somehow the beauty contests resembled the 70's film "Rocky" for John C. LOL.

Remember all the funny trash talking that happened between John and Damaso that first year? LOL.

It's not that... I have to bring books, film, a gift for my friends party in LI, and a camera that will do everything I need for the day. If not that day, we can meet another day for you to try it.

Oh in that case, no need to have the contest this year because my Sigma DP2m will surely win.

Jokes Cal, jokes... I will not enter such a frivolous contest.

I'm waiting for someone to enter a pin-hole camera.

The laughs are fun, especially when people get aggressive. That's why we have the no biting rule. LOL.

Not to start any film verses digital war, but I don't think any digital camera has won any beauty contest. The only time I remember digital being represented was when the M9 was first released, and that year we had two M9's entered into the beauty contest. The older M9 with the lower serial number was deemed the "vintage M9" and quickly bumped the newer "modern M9."
I wonder why digital is under represented?

No problem. It's not that big of a deal if you can't. You still want to meet before the meetup to do some shooting?

Digital just isn't sexy... which is why I use it. ;)

To me a Leica Monochrome is pretty sexy.

Also I remember at one Meet-Up when some drunk girl at the next table took exception that we were so self absorbed with our gear and asked me, "Don't you think I'm pretty?"

I told her, "My girlfriend definitely won't like you," and then she says, "Why don't you take my picture?" then all hell broke loose.

When I asked her if she found a bunch of old guys with expensive cameras sexy she said , "Yes." LOL.

The next thing you know is that Scott with his M9 has three drunk girls hanging all over him. Evidently these girls found Scott and his M9 to be sexy. LOL.
