So, the camera contest is open to all types of cameras this year right?
John,
Why not? We are not camera snobs. LOL.

BTW on Thursday February 27th there's an interesting show of vintage prints of Amy Arbus at the Leica Gallery. Time of the opening is 6-8 PM. I'll definitely be going and very like "Maggie" will be there also.
The work features fashion that she photographed "On The Street" when for a decade she shot for the Village Voice a weekly feature with the same title.

Bob,
You never know when a $10.00 camera takes the mob's fancy. Last year we had some really interesting cameras that cost no money. I remember that Canon with the odd trigger winder that won a prize.
This year it seems like winner take all, but we have a really cool vintage Leitz Tilt-All tripod with a monopod adapter.
Funny thing is that this particular Leitz tripod is made in New Jersey of all places. LOL. It comes from an era where things were made and manufactured in the USA. LOL.

Cal,
I remember the provenance of that Tilt-All...but I won't give away the secret!

Jean-Marc,
I don't mind being called a garbage picker, and everyone already knows that I found this Tilt-All tripod just laying on the curb on Broadway near the Leica Gallery.
A while back I started a tradition when I found some vintage copies of Leica Fotographic International under the 59th Street Bridge in my wanderings. Later at one of those early Meet-Ups I "recycled" those issues of LFI as prizes at an early camera beauty contest.
The Tilt-All is a nice tripod, its kinda heavy, and no doubt could handle medium format rigs with ease. Know that it is kinda overkill for 35mm though and for 35mm a lighter tripod might be better suited. If I didn't already have a good tripod, I surely would keep and use the tilt-all.
BTW my last lens I'll ever need might be a 90 Macro Elmar.

John,
I'm done for a while, but 90mm and Macro could be interesting. Only 1.6" collapsed without hood, and there is even an evil chrome version.
I can see using this on the M3-DS and the 0.85 MP.
I can't help but be a greedy American. LOL.
Cal
Ah, I see... it's the chrome that got you.

John,
You now know that I have a chrome fetish and a Griptac fetish.
Since I now own a black paint MP (pure vanity I know) I think that mucho heavy chrome 50 Lux ASPH is pure evil.
On my chrome M3-DS black lenses to me look kinda cheeze-E and just don't look right, kinda like a spackle job.
Anyways if someone has one bring your 90 Macro Elmar to the Meet-Up.

Bob,
At the end of the Cold War a friend of mine accused me of single-handedly downsizing an aerospace company that once was the fourth largest military manufacturer in the U.S. I basically recycled taxpayers dollars on an unprecidented scale, and I'm talking mil-spec quality. This was an unintended consequence of Reaganomics.

John,
GEAR ALERT: Well the saga continues... It seems that in my research on 90 Macro Elmars that I stumbled into a gross pricing error and a once in a lifetime deal.
I regressed back into my past and went into performance art mode ands faked that I was sick at work. My boss sent me home, and it must of been an award winning performance because he did not charge me any sick time. LOL
So I ran home and got my 0.85 MP and the card with the magic numbers and went to B&H. The no longer made chrome version is not 6-bit coded, but it came boxed with a blank warrantee card for $1799.00.
I also bought the boxed Macro adapter, but I will likely return it because it seems impractical for me to break down a camera to just get 10 more inches closer, and I already have a Nikon macro set-up that can perform 1:1 and slide copying.
I'll be bringing the 90 Macro to the parade.

GEAR ALERT: Tung says he will be bringing out his Noct-Nikkor and mucho black paint cameras.
Andre will be bringing his new M4 that has been recovered in Griptac that formally was named "Punky." This is likely the nicest M4 I have ever known.
John has some surprise camera that presents great mystery.
Who knows what project Christian will bring this year? Perhaps his large format ultra-wide?
The 90 Macro Elmar on my M3-DS is decidedly evil. Andre says he likes the monster hood, LOL, but I like it with the chrome hood from a 50 Elmar version 3. Collapsed, without hood, and with the reto metal lens cap it is the same length as a 50 Rigid, but it has a squatter stance because it is fatter. I'm not kidding here that this rig looks evil.
I'll also be bringing a Nikon F3P, but this one is not my real F3P. This is a F3 HP that someone suggested has been upgraded to "P" for Prada because I recovered it with some ultra-soft Italian goat leather. Bob will be getting a dose of goat leather for his F3, and I'm kitting him up.

Wow, the competition is really stiff this year!
I've got a Kodak Retina IIa kit with macro setup and a hacked Kodak meniscus lens sitting on a broken Minolta zoom lens barrel with a Nikon flange fitted.
I'm not bringing any Leica gear nor my Mamiya 6 kit; the Leica competed last year and the Mamiya is just a good working camera. I can't be carrying too much.
I WILL be bringing a bunch of stuff to sell though. Not desperate sales, just things I have sitting around: a Sinar LF board drilled for a Copal #0, a Pentax/Nikon lens adapter, a Pentax Super Takumar 55mm f/1.8, a bunch of good filters and a lot of whathaveyou. I'm bringing up all this stuff and I'm not bringing it back to Philly, so someone is going to have to take it all or I'll be handing items out as door prizes for surviving the 2014 event.

Phil,
Is it possible to bring that D3 that has been optimized for use with manual focus lenses? Tung is coming with his Noct-Nikkor.
Finally.... GAS DISCLAIMER: Not responsible for uncontrollable amounts of GAS that often is often and usually the result of our annual event. Also I don't recommend that others do what I do, meaning act impulsively.

The D3 is definitely coming along to the meeting. You'll get to see how my Kodak meniscus lens renders the lightbulb. Someone bring a Nikon-Fuji X adapter so John can play with this and get his lightbulb shot!

Phil,
Thanks.
This year's Camera Parade should be a good show. Funny is how we are loosing count. I think this is the fifth annual event. Am I correct?
