Started receiving very generous donations. I will be away from RFF for a little while. I will start sending confirms of received amounts later (to the paypal e-mail used).
 
John, I sent what little I had left and I can send the following:

Nikon D17M Eyepiece
Nikon D19 VF Ring
BM3 screen protector
Nikon focusing screen (not sure which one)

I will look in the closet and see what else.:)

BTW, what mailing/shipping address?
 
John, thanks for setting up the paypal and I am always inspired by the members who turn out for someone when they are in need.

Hopefully enough contributions come in to restore Phil's stolen equipment.
 
Ok, despite the very generous donations that came in so far, we are nowhere near $700 to $800. I'm most likely going to wait to see how much we gather, then see what we can afford, and go from there. Thanks for all of the help and donations so far and the tips on cameras. I will send confirms in a little while...after my lunch. As far as shipping items to me as donations, that is a great idea too. Please PM for my address.

give it time...i have done this a few times in the past and it was amazing how much was donated.
can you check on the need for a bag? i have a like new domke 5xc bag that i can mail or take with me to n.y. mid april.
 
Not sure how you might finagle this, but what about a sticky seeking a small donation from the sales of all that's up on the Classifieds?

If Phil is active in other forums, surely it would make sense to expand the appeal to those forums.

Last thought: take a tip from United Way and similar campaigns, and let us know how much remains to get us to (e.g.) $800. If this appears daily for a week, it may make a diff in the ante.

btw I'm in, and thanks toJohn for organizing this.
 
i would keep the classifieds and other forums out of this...less complicated that way...an occasional announcement of approximately how much has been donated goes a long way as well.

I agree. Just easier to manage for me. We are up to $175! :D
