Obama's hours before and after

First , kindly allow me to say that there is a TV doco by "frontline" about both campaigns, McCain and Obama's, with great pictures. Among them there is an unforgettable one of Hilary Clinton twisting her lips and cheek, like saying 'how do I deal with him?'

This thread is going to get closed as well....... no connection to photography especially RF. I realize there's excitement but unless O'bama has a Leica or Voigtlander or Nikon or Canon RF around his neck it doesn't belong here...........

Not trying to be the police or junior moderator here but these types of discussions end up going down hill because of the strong emotions connected to both sides.

Hi Scott,

A constructive and creative approach to this thread could be to input links about great pics made during the campaign. According to the pics I saw on the "frontline" TV doco, there are strong pictures out there. Having a retrospective photo thread at RFF about both campaigns could be great.

The campaign exhibit currently at the Leica Gallery in NYC focuses on the Obama primary run and is very well done. I went a couple weeks ago, my first time to the Leica Gallery. It is small, but the exhibit is impressive.

(shh, don't tell anyone, even though the obvious M8 images were wonderful, I liked the character of the old film shots from prior campaigns going back to LBJ better.)
 
It would be interesting to actually know what the photographer here was using.

It seems to me that the close range, candid images are perfectly suited to RFs and their strengths (speed, small size, quietness, etc.)

As I said in my post, keeping it on a "photographic plane" is great be me.... it just seems that more often than not especially this week these threads drift in a direction that inevitably leads to more "heated" discussions and personal attacks that RFF usually doesn't have.

So your suggestion if it's adhered to sounds terrific !
