The expected arrival schedule is in August. Price is 135000 yen.

hooray! finally some movement. I'll be very surprised if I don't wind up buying one of these within the next year or so, so I've got a backup 35mm 1.2.

Looks like it's gotten a fair bit more expensive though? 135000 yen is just under US$1700, and if I remember right cameraquest used to sell the old 35mm f1.2 for $879. Hopefully the "street price" will be less.

looking at the lens diagrams on the voigtlander site, here's the original 35mm f1.2:

here's the diagram given for the new one (middle column, second from bottom row):

they look the same. wonder if that's the case or if they simply forgot to update their diagram for the v2?

Finally! A little more than $ I expected, but I'll be interested to see it's performance compared to the original version. I guess it only comes with the vented style hood. Hopefully it is a tad smaller...

It's a great lens but $1700.00 is getting up there ... a bit!

It'll be really interesing to see how it measures up against the old version.

the price tag also was kind of a surprise... if the v2 doesn't have bullseyes on oof light circles like the v1 has I'll be really tempted to sell mine and get the new one. after a while. and u$ed ;)

I have only seen this a few times with my copy. is it really that bad?
the only complaint about the first version is that apparently there is some, more than enough, sample variation. if the v2 does that better and everything else like v1, it is definitely worth the money. even if it's quite the jump, considering I bought mine (like) new for 550€.

Minimum focus distance of 0.5m - I assume that this is intended for the m4/3rd and sony nex crowd with on-screen focusing? Anything closer than 0.7m on an M-body won't be reflected by the RF focusing patch? Can someone confirm my assumption?

And is really frustrating if you intend to focus at or near MFD of your RF.

Will they ever come out w the ultron 35mm f1.7 version 2 for a fraction of the price of the above? and all i need is an improved minimum focus distance..haha

Uh... Because a) you're on RANGEFINDERforum, and b) it's been available in retail for some time now and people are already shooting with it?

Goes to show what I know! ;) I saw on the Cosina site that it had the same release date, so I assumed it was new. I didn't catch that it was an SLR lens. Who shoots SLR anyway? ;)
