btgc the 'sardine tin' Fuji may spoil the picture but it was a quick shot just to show my current line-up. The 28mm Fujinon lens outperforms any one of the others. It does have the snap mode but also you can choose to set other distances eg 0.35m-0.4-0.45-0.5-0.6-0.7.-0.8-0.9-1.0-1.2-1.5-2.0-2.5-3.0-5.0-10.0m-infinity by pressing a small rubber button on the back. Haven't shot this camera for a while and had considered letting it go. I seem to be letting the film users side down a little lately.
btgc, If you'd like to see some more of my shots from the Fuji take a peek here http://www.flickr.com/photos/kuvvy/sets/72157604705827596/

kuvvy, 'sardine tin' from Fujifilm sounds good piece of gear. Is VF easy to use? On Fuji Silvi VF is a bit cramped, while rest of camera is soooo gooood.

Here's a shot of my current pocketable cameras. Picked up the original Stylus (bottom right) only yesterday for £2 at a car boot sale along with an Oly Trip 35 and PS200 flash for £5. Haven't shot a roll through most of these in ages but just couldn't resist a bargain.

Interesting that the bottom right one is the USA version. Ours should have "OLYMPUS µ [mju:]-1" on the front.

I thought that too David. I once owned the Mju soon after it was launched and I also bought my daughter the champagne version which btw has only had about six rolls through it.

Regarding Epic/Mju - mine developed broken release button over years. Thanks ebay - got donor mju to take out little spring under release button. Without spring there's no half-press position. And yes, my Mju now takes pictures again. Wanted to make it working despite fact I have another great cameras.

I guess it's the usual charity shop surprise. Where would we be without them for toys to play with? Still no Leica R6: can't understand it...

One of my favorite cameras! (although I do not have very many scanned examples from it-- only one roll)

Thanks

Thanks

I was scared you would say you use a fim scanner, a bit over my budget. Epson v600 seems to fit my budget. I tried hp5 with my Epics but I found it a bit contrasty. I am really liking tri x

I have the Mju II 35/3.5. Cost me 3k yen. Expensive, yes, but that's Tokyo price. OTOH, virtually all other Mju versions, like the zooms, can be had for peanuts - like as low as 300 yen!

I've been watching for one of these at shops for about 9 months.

I finally found one today for $3. Looks to be in excellent condition. I'll have to run a roll through it and find out.

Yes, the one roll of HP5+ that I have used in the stylus came out very contrasty. However, knowing this allows one to cut back on developing time next round to control contrast. Thus, the contrast is only an issue for the first roll.

...The real point is that the I has an oddity: you have to keep the "Self Timer" button pushed down whilst squeezing the shutter button to start it....

Regards, David

Thanks to this early post I see the secret has been revealed!

All this time I thought my Stylus Infinity's self timer was broken.

Thank you David!

Well, after two+ years of service, my Stylus Epic just broke.
I had a bit of whiskey last night and ended up dropping the Stylus on the hard-wood floor... busted it up.
