I recently picked up a beautiful Olympus XA in excellent condition with the A16 flash for my street photography. Loaded a roll of film, and I was going to test it out when I noticed that the shutter fired even with the clamshell closed.
From what I've read, the shutter shouldn't fire with the clamshell closed, since the camera's supposed to be 'off' with it shut. There's an audible 'click' when I close the clamshell, so I don't think that's the issue.
The obvious workaround is to not wind the film until I'm ready to take a shot, but does anyone know of a quick fix?
