One camera, one lens and one roll of film

Equally, as much as I like a lot of cameras, I've never had so much fun as when I first got my Lubitel 166U, that, plenty of Kodak Portra 160VC and the little Pilot 2 and I'm set up.

In 35mm, mainly by versatility and handling would be the Canon P, with the Canon 35/2 and Neopan 400 (and contact lenses to see more easily the 35mm frames 🙂)

Hey D2!

Did you finally track down a 100mm Kinoptik...really? Wow, you'll have to tell me the story some time, I'm sure its interesting, congrats on finally finding one!

...watched another 2.8cm tessar go for way too much money the other day so I have to go check out your example in the RFF galleries again.

HEY SCHAUBILD....

You HAVE to post a pic of your Alpa 12swa in the "Coffee and Camera" link for a few people like me to dribble over in the privacy of our own home. 😉

Cheers!

PS. Now I have a strange desire for some Rivella!

I normally choose just one camera per outing, but normally pack 3 or 4 lenses with it.

But if I had to choose one it would be:

My favorite camera is the.. Nikon SP.... No! The Leica M3 !! AAAARRRRRGGhhhhhh !!! ...

and for film: Panatomic-X

50mm lens

50mm lens

What I find interesting is the number of posters who would choose a 50mm lens in this scenario. My guess, ahead of time, would have been a 35mm optic. Shows the versatility and staying power of the good ol' 50!

Gene look what the FSU bug did with you ! 😀

But I agree, it's such a sweet outfit.
Too true! I think of my Bessa as a 'system' camera and usually have a couple of lenses along. The Zorki (with the CV external 1:1 VF) is my fav single cam, single lens walkabout cam. Such a fun shooter!

From what I own:
Bessa R w/ 35/2.5 CS and Neopan 400.

From what I don't own:
Pentax LX w 43mm Limited lens and Neopan 400.

MF (first RF choice) Rangefinder: Mamiya Super Press 23, 100mm f/3.5 lens, HP5 film.
35mm Rangefinder: Olympus SP, HP5 film (if the Weltini ever shows up this may change).
SLR (if battery supply isn't a consideration): Fujica ST 901, Fujinon f/1.4 lens (of course, the 43-75mm is worth a consideration if zooms are allowed but it is slower), HP5 film.
SLR (if battery supply is a problem): Yashica FX-3, Contax F/1.4 lens, HP5 film (only because this gives me some slower manual speeds than the Fujica, but the Fujica works with or without battery from 60-1000 sec).
Non rangefinder/SLR: Welta Welti, 5cm f/2.9 Cassar, HP5 film.

These from what I own and therefore could choose.

Still haven't answered the question though, have I? I think it would be between the Mamiya and the Fujica, to be determined only when forced to do so. 😉

Panatomic-X ? I'd love to see the faces if I asked for that on my local photo store 🙂

Haven't you heard? Kodak has recently re-released Panatomic X. It's every bit as good as the original!

Wow! The Neopan 400, is deservedly getting quite the fan base.

My one choice would be Neopan 400, in my FE-2 and Viv S-1 28-90. As for rangefinders, it's Neopan 400 in either the Vivitar ES or Oly RC.

RUSS: No Joking? Panatomic-x Back?

Do you have any links to this?

I'll break out the Microdol if true...

It's been a long time since I heard Panatomic-X and Microdol, that's about all my Dad ever shot in B&W and Microdol was his favorite developer...now maybe Kodak will find a way to bring Kodachrome 25 back.
