Canada Ottawa-Gatineau RFFers Meetup

Ping!

Ping!

I'll be at Parliament Hill with my evil DSLR this Saturday afternoon participating in a class trip for the photography course I'm taking at Algonquin.

I have tickets to the Habs game that night so I have to leave for the "Bank" later.

How about meeting at Zak's Saturday around 10?

How about Fall in the Gatineau Hills?

How about Fall in the Gatineau Hills?

Will we ever have a meetup here in the NCC?

OK Nancy, this has been festering too long. How about we set a date for meeting sometime in the fall when the leaves are in full colour?

OK - how about the Saturday the 4th or Sunday the 5th (the next weekend is thanksgiving). We could meet either in the Market or somewhere closer (Old Chelsea?).

We could carry on then to The Farm, aka Kingswood, in Kingsmere... which is a less than 2 minutes from Chelsea. There is ample parking and lots of room to spread out; with scenic views of the hills and the waters. :)

I've sent PMs to Vickko, anandi, Disater_Area & vladhed who, I believe all live in the area. I'm assuming you'll talk to hub.

I'll leave it up to you to suggest a place to meet in Old Chelsea, or if we get some interest from the Toronto or Montreal crowds we could meet in the market. Why don't we say Saturday to leave some time for travel in case some people from out-of town need travel time?

I live in Ottawa but being 21 i would feel way too out of place.

If you see a youth following you guys around from afar, don't be worried ;)

It's not about age (I'm still 15 at heart) it's about being passionate about taking pictures. You're over 19 I'll buy you a beer ;-). We might be older but that doesn't mean we'll have a better view on life than U!

Did a search of "Ottawa" on RFF & PMed johnalex141r, pompadork, KEH, corazon (again sorry), Kristopher, Vin Vermier & Rafael

Okay, I'm in for either Oct 4th or 5th.

Tell us when? I would normally have Tai Chi on Sat at 930 or church at 9 on Sunday.
And I gather the preferred spot is MacKenzie King estate, is it? Better be more specific on "The Farm, aka Kingswood, in Kingsmere". I am familiar with the estate itself.

Thanks for the heads up Gordon. I hadn't seen this thread. I think a meet is a great idea. Thanks to those of you who have taken the initiative to set this up. Unfortunately, I already have tentative plans for the 4th-5th weekend and am not sure that I will be able to make it out with you guys. I will let you all know as soon as I know for sure one way or the other.

I actually live in Perth, which is only a hour or so from Hull - I also have family and friends in Aylmer and Wakefield so I could probably convince the family to come along (and hence free me from other chores). You guys pick a time and place and let me know - I'll come along if I can.

I'd be interested - I'm waiting for my first roll of film from my rangefinder so if it doesn't need a CLA I'd be up for it.

Fear not, I have 4 fully functional rangefinder cameras that'd I'd be happy to bring along and lend to anyone rangefinderless. They were all bought for less than 25$ and yet indestructable in build.

Hi Vick,
I believe that Nancy was referring to MacKenzie King's 1st Cottage at Kingsmere

Thanks Dominic - I actually got a roll of B&W through my RF. I wasn't happy with the results but that was due to poor composition on my part  The meter (external) seems to agree with my DSLR and the exposures were acceptably within range.

I have a roll of Kodachrome in it now that I'm trying to finish so I can put some colour print film in it.
