Does anyone have any tips about how to save a raw file, or save a 16 bit TIFF with a 135?

Also any tips about adjustments, sharpness, etc. :)

The PSI software should be the same as for my F-235.

When you click the *diskette* icon (lol) to save your scans you should see the "Save as Raw" checkbox in the lower left corner.

Also, click the Image Settings tab to select your file type. I always use TIF and Scanner Resolution. I convert my scans to JPG in Photoshop after making my fine tunings.

Another tip is in the "Filename prefix" bos I put "ROLLID_" and maybe some more descriptive info and it names all the pics with that prefix. (for example: "ROLLID_OM1_KG200_" names the files as "952201_OM1_KG200_AAnnn.tif")

Another tip is you can import scans from the Archive and you get the original images back without having to rescan. I'm sure that feature was to accommodate a returning customer.
 
Yes, I saw the 'save as raw' checkbox, but it always comes back with an error (something akin to it lost contact with the scanner.) Then when I look, there is one file, about 170 bytes in size, and that's it.

Are you able to save as raw without this error? What kind of file is a raw file? Is it a 16 bit TIFF?
 
I am able to save as RAW. The file type depends on which you choose. I save as TIFF and it is about 16mb in file size.

For experiment, I just imported a set from the archive and saved one frame as raw/tiff.
 
For some reason my setup will not allow raw, but I had someone send me a raw file sample. It's still 8 bit, so I don't see any reason to further debug this...I don't know of any application that could process ICE from this file (other than the Pakon software) so might as well just save the scans as TIFF and not mess with raw.

VERY pleased with the standard TIFFs!
 
I just got my F135-Plus today, and everything seems to work. Just wanted to check which is the latest software (PSI) since I seem to be missing some options seen on newer ones (I've got 2.4) namely the ability to scan B&W.

Bonus points if anyone can point me in a direction where I can get an updated version of the PSI software
 
It doesn't do traditional B&W. Or at least mine didn't. It's why I got rid of it.

The software I had/have is 2.4 as well.

I got hold of the newer software (3.0), and I have just scanned 2 rolls (of uncut film), 1 Tri-x and one Tmax400. Looks stunning.

Where did you get the newer software that allows the F135plus to scan B&W?

I would love to do traditional B&W.

I just purchased the F-135 plus and got the firmware from there FB group! i'm beyond excited.
 
using v. 2.4 of the sw, found that it would scan some bw file and
not scan beyond the first frame for some... stumbled upon this forum
and i see a possible solution... thanks let me hunt for it...
