John, I have seen some nice steelhead come out of the N. Santiam. But, I think the coastal rivers, such as the Siletz, are more productive.

Update on the Pentax Doctor and my 6x7.
I got the negatives back. Exposure was off due to A) Lack of meter & B) Lack of practice without meter C) Overcast sky & snow. A situation I almost never encounter & therefore missed the guesstimated exposure. Don't shoot me.
Focus is spot on with the new split screen. Negatives scanned. Images still sitting on the hard drive and not placed on the web for viewing. My bad. I'll correct that.
Taking The Beast out to play in the Texas Hill Country. Report, with photos I promise, soon.

Eh, I've been doing some night photography in the area where I go to school (I'll post some more later), never really had much luck with reciprocity failure so I've just been experimenting, and finally got it right a few nights ago. Or, at least what I'd consider right. I made a 20x24 C-print of it today and it looks a lot different. A lot of the other stuff looks wacky, and it was for less time, the sky is a deep blue since it is so much more lit-up. This garage was lit from a streetlight very far away, so it was basically as bright as sky behind it.
 
Very clever, or maybe lucky; but luck is experience finally coming home to roost. Post more, please. I wouldn't worry about distorting this thread; it is so big that it has drifted many times (I hope I don't get scolded for saying that).

By the way: guitar???? If you do I have tons of tabs from all the way back to the middle 60s.
 
@ Keytar, Mando has been using a Pentax 67 for quite a while... I think he's on sabbatical lately. He's one of my long standing "friend/contacts" He's a good one to follow. He doesn't usually expose as long as you have been in this set. These have all come out really well for you!

Edit: I've just looked at your site so I now recognize your work. I think you've shot (Yellowstone?) with 45mm IIRC plus I recognize the tiger mask ;D

Haha yup that's my stuff 😀 I'm surprised you recognized it. I'm facebook friends with Mando, he is one of my favorites, always a constant source of inspiration. Yes, I've been missing his photos as of late.

It's weird, I'm not sure exactly sure where the bug to shoot at night started from. Maybe it was Mando. Todd Hido's work was definitely the kicker, and I've also been heavily inspired by Kevin Cooley, Sander Meisner, Sebastien Tixier, Barry Underwood, etc. Anyway, I've been going out at night a lot and just having adventures. Walking at night is so much more dangerous than walking during the daytime. You need to watch out for animals (there are more than you would think), people, broken bits of sidewalk, and trash on the sidewalk (I almost slipped on a coke bottle last night) while still scanning both sides of the street for interesting light/houses. When I first started doing it I would go out for a few hours and return with no pictures. After that, the pictures I would take would come out too dark because I wasn't comfortable with waiting for five or ten minutes. I suppose I could take these in brighter light, or with faster film, or with a wider aperture in order to have shorter exposures but I like where they're at right now...I think Texas (where Mando shoots) is a lot brighter in general than Northern Ohio...he seems to have light pollution coming from everywhere.
