people asking to be photographed

I like this thread. 🙂

I've noticed that generally speaking, the most attractive people are from areas of the world where you have a mix of many different cultures. Stirring the gene pool is usually gives better looks than keeping your stuff homogenous; that's why immigrant cultures tend to look so good. Case in point, Israel or Persia (not immigrant anymore I guess but an ancient crossroads nonetheless) or Winnipeg. The exception that proves the rule is Iceland. I don't know why they're so good looking.

I grew up in NY and I gotta tell you, I don't think that being jewish is what makes israelis attractive. (someone mentioned something about winnipeg being high on the list cause of the high jewish population, I totally disagree.) It's the fact that Israel is so cosmopolitan that gives them attractiveness. Look at the more insular jewish communities such as the hasidim in brooklyn and you'll see what I am talking about.

I see the difference even within my own family; we are half american and half israeli. Those of us from Long Island are all from strictly eastern european stock and range from average to hideous (jews in europe were notoriously insular for centuries), those of us from Israel who have intermarried with Sephardic and African people are totally gorge. (I ended up on the unfortunate side of this family tree, but I managed to snag a hot Israeli anyway so maybe our kids'll have a shot at not looking as woody alleney as myself.)

Photographic evidence of my theory. 1 inbred NY jew vs. 1 cosmo israeli jew. No contest here.

I'm 100% with you!

Another proof is latin amerika, at least as long as the girls are under 30 and not married

Montreal and Winnipeg had the largest Jewish communities in Canada, though today the have the oldest such communities. Winnipeg was quite the racial mix when I grew up there; and who is to argue with Playboy Mag.? 😉

Well, the whole continent. My girlfriend has German, Danish and Sioux ("Native American") ancestry --- she's "lekker".

I asked a guy from Iceland about that once. He laughed and said "We're descended from Viking raiders. We stopped in Ireland for women slaves on the way, and who would bother kidnapping an ugly woman!"

All generalizations are false.

Having lived and traveled in Europe, North America, China, Tibet, and Japan, I would say "racial" mix has nothing to do with how attractive a group of people are. Beauty is everywhere. No one group has a corner on the market.

Bobofish, Several years ago Playbay rated Winnipeg #2, just after Miami. Winnipeg and Montreal were the 2 largest Jewish communities in Canada. Hey! Monty Hall is from Winnipeg. I know one of his nephews. His real name was Halprin. 😉

and yet more Playmates were born in San Marino California than any other city......

Be prepared to run like hell after you return the camera and they check the image on the LCD screen. 😛

I'm trying to find a fake peel-and-stick LCD screen with a picture of a chimp on it that I can use on the backs of my film cameras. 😀 if anyone knows where I can get one, let me know.

go to Porter's http://tinyurl.com/bu7vu get the memory holder for 35mm film then instead of putting in the box top of your film, put in a picture of your favorite donkey or chimp 😉

But to be fair this doesn't mean that people there are better looking. (although I'm sure it means that they are generally more attractive than the average new yorker.) 🙂

You don't see many, say, Persians in Playboy cause playboy doesn't go to Iran much to recruit and I'd be willing to bet that not too many Persians try out compared to americans.

On that note, if anyone is interested I know roughly how much they pay. A friend of mine tried out for a few magazines once. Playboy offered her $700. Perfect 10 offered her $7,000! She went for P10. Maybe playboy doesn't have to pay their 'unknowns' much since they are considered more, ahem, sophisticated, than the average skin mag.

There is an interesting website on virtual attractiveness here.

That is an interesting website. I've heard of the concept before. I apparently like 20% babyface 80% adult female face features. I am like 12.9% of other men, while 79% of men prefer more babyface features. Hmm.

Shaaktiman, if your name is derived from Hindi (Sanskrit root), it should be spelt "Shaktimaan": the first "a" is short, the second is long. I can't do diacritical marks here.

Yup. I mistyped it.
I have seen it spelled (mispelled?) a few different ways. My notebook has it printed "Shaktiman", I don't think anyone is paying too much attention in Shakitmaan's licensing department, their brand lacks consistency. LOL.
So, are you a fan?

A fan, Shaktiman? No way. You know that some kids who watched that idiot serial jumped off roof-tops and died because they thought they too could fly? As for spelling, the practice of using "aa" to represent a long "a" ("barmy", "daft", etc.) is relatively recent. People of my time -- well, we just know what's short and what's long.

Kids also were inspired to jump out of second story windows after reading Peter Pan. Let's ban fantasy! 🙄
