Here are some of my photos from yesterday's meeting. Some good shots but mainly a lot of rubbish. You can see the rest of the shots in my Flickr, the "10th Meeting RFF HK Club: Central" set.

Dingo, you shouldn't have brought that evil Xpan with you, I have been looking at then on the net all morning (and I found one at a very decent price...:bang:, basically half the price of what the guy was asking yesterday at the flea market).

Thanks for that good day out.

Max

Great shots Max ! I am really sorry to have shown you the evil Xpan, the only way to heal yourself is to get one. :p

I have to admit I really like your pictures, please show us more. Since we all shot films we can only count on you before we got our films processed.

OK, some more, but there is not much left, the rest of them were not that good...

Hey,

There are some wonderful photos here. It is always a pleasure to see how others photograph the same places.

Additionally, I really want to thank dryice66 for taking me around the streets of HK and photographing--A more than gracious host. He also led me to a couple fo photography stores, where I found two bags--one bag which is perfect for any 35mm system, and does not scream photobag here is a link to their website:

Here is a link to the bag that was recommended--perfect for m systems. I can fit two bodies with lenses, carry two additional lenses, flash, and enough film for the day.

The other bag works well for medium format equipment by jenova design studio. Great bag, small and compact yet, I can fit quite a bit of stuff.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread, but again, I am really appreciative to dryice and taking the time to show me around.

I do hope to meet the rest of you on the next visit, if possible.

I will post some photos from Hk in a few months, I am bogged down with projects at work at the moment.

Cheers!

Hi Sisyphus,

Your name came up on Saturday as some of us were wondering if you were properly met and greeted when you came to Hong Kong. Dingo thought (correctly) that Ainslie had met up with you, so I am glad to hear you were in good hands and had a fun time together! Did the girl from pierre-n-paul join you on your little adventure, as well? :D

PS Yep the girl from Pierre n Paul was there to greet us too!

Ainslie is cool guy to hang out with--we found some cool stuff to photograph. Not quite sure how the photos turned out, but will keep you posted.

And Max, can you tell us your settings on color shooting mode ?

Dingo,

I use the RAW settings in the camera and then import the photos in Adobe Lightroom where I applied some presets usually something that give the tone of Velvia film. It is pretty basic but Lightroom is such a good software, I highly recommend it.

Cheers

Thank you Max, I should try to learn Lightroom if I keep on using the R-D1.
BTW, I think we should show what we got from the flea market, especially to those members who haven't joined us, this is my 'new' MD-12 which matches perfectly on my FM2 :

Hey Max,

Louis and I shot slides that day, and I was told it needs 10 days to get them developed and scanned, that's why.

About the next gathering, do you have any idea ? You know as I told Adrian I am the only one who showed up everytime, so you got me already. :p

Louis was talking about going to Tai O but it will be too crowded during the week end better keep that for a week day, so how about Aberdeen, anything interesting there?

Hi HK friends,

Any images about the HK members at your meeting ?

Cheers,
Ruben

Yes, Max's first two entries above have photos of Max (with goatee) and Pan, as well as Louis and me. Later, Louis' entry has a photo of Dingo (also goatee'd) with all our gear. I think we have a near group shot in one of the slides in processing, too. Adrian
