Photos from Damascus

Hello,

those photos are fantastic in every respect.
Not only the content but also the finish - each one is a fine art print.
May I ask, how did you scan them?

This reportage gives a great insight into the Syrian and Arabic daily life I have not seen elsewhere.

It should be printed. Did you send it to some papers?

Best regards
Michael

I scanned the negs using a Nikon Coolscan V as 16 biit greyscale images and then made adjustments in Lightroom or Photoshop. I have printed some of them, and I've been hunting around for a venue to show the prints. It was interesting to post a link here, as usually it's only friends and family that see any photos I make.

Excellent work. I too would like to know how they were scanned. It always seems to be hit and miss for me regarding 35mm negs.

Jay, that's an excellent work. Some of the shots are really outstanding and the whole is a great story.
How much time was needed to do it?
Also, I am amazed how well TMY2 did with the high contrasts...

Thanks for sharing ang good luck!

Jay, these photographs are superb. Congratulations!

Why don't you check out the following website, which is curated by Magnum photographer David Allan Harvey:

Look at the submission guidelines, maybe edit them down and I'm sure you'll get an acceptance there.

I'll keep my eye out for your folio on Burn!

Cheers, Phil
