Australia/New Zealand Photos from RFF Camera around Australia and NZ

Oh Michael this is great work, beautiful texture to those clouds (which I had some of them laden with rain) and the focus and detail in the window shot is great. But that selfie…BRAVO!

So any chance of adopting an LTM into your life? 😉

Thanks. The texture in the clouds comes mostly from a red filter (B+W 090) and a boost in contrast in LR. Although I scan intentionally low contrast, this one needed a lot of help to get it to how it looked to me at the time. A bit of tweaking and you'd be surprised what is in your cloud shot (#2).

Nope! Although it had a lot of charms, it made me realise how freaking brilliant the M6 is! Maybe if I was a multiple camera sorta guy …

Been a bit quiet on the Fed photo front lately. John, did you get yours developed yet? I'm going to dev a roll of FP4 on Sat, I can chuck it in if you want.

OK so here are 6 of the images from the one roll of Fp4+ I managed to get through. My intention had been to try Portra and Kentmere 400 ASA fims but not with a top shutter speed of 1/500th...

Thanks to Michael and his magic laundry they are souped DDX 1:4 for 10 mins, and I am back into developing film after 20 years! They are straight scans on a Minolta dimage 5400 with a light infared clean. In lightroom there was hardly any need for auto levels. I decided not to manipulate the digital negs this time because I wanted to see the Fed and Industar come through.

Unlike Mark's beautiful rural images above I went a bit urban gritty.

Thanks John,

The magic is that anything comes out all all! Not too much dust either despite the laundry.

Beautiful images John, keep it up. The lens on the fed is pretty nice isn't it?

Hopefully we'll see some shots from the rest of Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth soon?!
Looking forward to seeing how everyone went, but I can't stand the suspense!

Cheers,
Michael

OK, here it is. The camera worked flawlessly, my biggest problem has been the weather, we had rain every day, so the images are very flat.
I did not use any filters just a lens hood.

Had trouble with the gallery upload,
anyhow i had some fun being part of this.

Should be in the mail herein next couple of days. Have stirred up a bit of interest here with NZ shooters. They have posted on the original thread. Can they be added to the list? Nice shots above Mike.

I think the selfies have been a highlight of this project - and once again a creative approach. Thanks Mike.

And like the others, I find that first photo intriguing and well-made.

Hausen - I wonder if it might be best for you to sort the NZ leg with a new list post in the organisation thread? batey_1020 gets busy with other stuff and I suspect it would benefit from a proper Kiwi hand at the helm.

Thanks to all,
Yes the Rat (actually a Western Bandicoot) and the boy was real luck, the first shot i got was with a delivery guy with a heap of boxes, i thought as a theme "Feeding the Giant Rat" then that guy left and the boy came along.
I like the Beach shot with the curved horizon, I think it is Pin Cushion distortion of the lens and here it just works.
Anyhow next time i try harder.

Nice work Mike. I especially like the last two, and the first is growing on me... With work like that its no wonder they named a national park after you!

That hood you used makes the camera look almost modern (in a 1970's kinda way)

Hopefully we can fill in the bits between Melbourne and Perth soon, and I'm looking forward to seeing the locals take on NZ.

Michael
