Looking at the pictures again and I wonder why they couldn't have raised the top plate one side and given us a view-finder for (say) the three commonest lenses?
And it would really look retro then...

Probably because it has a fixed lens, and you can fit it in a coat pocket without the finder attached.
It helps as well that there are an abundance of auxillary 35mm viewfinders available, even if the lens does equate to a 36mm.
Looks good to me.
