was wondering if there are any small lens cases available that would allow me do put this in a backpack and be well protected? I haven't even received my Leica m11-P (will be here this week) but I just couldn't pass up this lens deal from KEH.

B&H carries some neoprene pouches that might work for your application. How sturdy a case are we talking? There are also Lens wraps, which are padded squares with Velcro corners. Used to use those for LF gear ..

It is metal. All you need is matching neoprene lens pouch.

Also since camera is also needed protection, find small camera bag with detachable belt.
It doesn't have to be fancy. I use one from second hand shop. Old Caselogic camera, lens, battery case.

Thanks, I did find a neoprene case on B&H so I purchased a few. I have a ton of bags like most but I use Wotancraft gear most times, I also have a Tumi backpack that I often use for travel abroad. Since I’m moving from Sony to Leica for travel my bags will be much smaller and often non camera specific like the Tumi.

I have almost exactly the same lens with lens hood, except it’s black finish. Got the Op/Tech Fold-over Pouch #253 and that fits perfectly with the hood on. Same pouch also for my Zeiss Biogon 35mm f2,0 with hood attached. They’re inexpensive, and great protection in any bag.
