new lens, traded for a summarit.

Am quite happy with the Canon. The summarit was lovely with black and white, but wanted another look with color. Not disappointed. Canon P, Canon 50 1.4, Fuji Superia 400.

Just found this thread by accident, so, I'd like to add to it, since it's here
In Griffin, Georgia about a year ago. 1952 Canon III body, and the Canon 50mm F/1.4 lens, Fuji Superia film:
Last week, M3, same lens, Kodak BW400CN film:
M3, same lens, Kodak Ektar 100
For the Ektar 100 shots, I've been told that all Scanners have a problem with this film, and there's only a couple programs that can render this film properly. I don't have those programs so I did what I could in Photoshop, but there's still a slight reddish hue on things.

here is my last few pictures on my Canon 50mm F1.4 LTM. Sold it away lately to settle for the Nokton 50mm F1.5 in chrome
I shot these in Nov 2010, Winter of Hanoi. All shot wide open at night in the old quarter of Hanoi:

It was the Canon 50/1.4 which made me sent the Heliar 50/3.5 back to the dealer after a roll of Kodak Ektar 100.

This is a Great photo!
I better go find myself a f1.4, master Ferider.
However, I'll still keep my f1.5![]()
I agree, this is very good. The blown-out sky keeps it from being great, but a nice mood here that is neither the classic BW nor the Velvia magenta sunset mood that we've seen over the past decades.

I dearly love my Canon RF 50mm F1.2, but I really do want to find a nice example of this lens. It's said to be the best Canon ever made in this focal length. It's really just a matter of time for me.

I don't know if it's the best of the Canon : there are several good lenses such as 50/1.5, 50/1.2 or 50/1.8
and I think each one can be seen as "the perfect lens" by users.
It all depends what you're searching for and how good is your copy.
