Playing old cine lenses on Leica

These old motion picture lenses draw beautifully. Are the modifications to make them compatible with Leica M permanent? I ask because there are a few folks out there that have bought up a great number of the old cine lenses, butchered the mounts then set them into Leica M focusing helicals This is unfortunate for us who want to shoot old optics as they were intended, on motion picture cameras. It is almost impossible to find lens in Eyemo mount aside from the 25mm Eyemax which is a hyperfocal, non focusing lens. Almost everything else out there that hasn't been cut up costs the same amount as a modern PL mount lens which is not compatiblle with a clockwork Eyemo. It's frustrating. Gorgeous photos but how they came to be is really maddening for those of us who want to shoot them on motion picture cameras.

Hi Phil :

Yes, we can modify those cine lenses on Leica M couple but mostly start 45mm due to the image circle below this focal length might not cover FF. There are few master in HK, Taiwan and China that can do this modification. Price can be from EURO400-500 per modification. Most of my lenses from 50mm to 75mm are modified to Leica M coupled. I had fall in love shooting cine lenses with Leica or now Fuji Medium format.

Cheers,

Jeff
