I know some members can consider this a waste of time, but I'm in the more realistic side of the game, thinking of cameras and lenses that could be made, and sold of course!
And I'm mostly seriously interested in details from other forum members' dream cameras...
Thanks!
Cheers,
Juan

Here’s my grain of sand, and everyone’s allowed to call it my absurd street camera design:
I keep wanting a compact light camera for 35mm film, with a very small and slow 35mm distortion free fixed lens that can be f8 only, with 3 clicked, stiff positions for focusing: 1.5 meters, 3 meters and 6 meters, ‘cause I just care about what surrounds camera.
A big 1:1 viewfinder, with clean 35 framelines and some external space around them, and no other information there. No rangefinder needed.
Mechanical speeds, no AutoExposure. Speeds up to 1/2000th ‘cause I already use that a lot. No need for speeds slower than 1/8th.
Obviously back door loading.
Arrows metering information on camera body, close to the viewfinder.
That’s it.
Just name the price, whatever camera brand CEO you are… 🙂
Cheers,
Juan

I was always interested in a film camera that was designed so "selfies" (as pictures of one's self have becomme known as) did not require use of a mirror or extreme contortion of the arm.

Rollei 35S with built in rangefinder... apparently Rollei were working on the project but it got shelved.

I am simple. How about a Hexar AF2 ... Exactly the same, but with 1/1000 top speed and speed/aperture displayed in the finder. Moving the aperture ring to the lens and changing the top dial to speed would be icing on the cake.

Think of the reverse of the digital Hexar -> X100. Think a film X100!

I own a Horseman 842 Convertible medium format camera. It has a fixed 62mm lens, which translates to 27mm eq. on 6x9.

I'd like a Horseman Convertible with a 50mm fixed lens, that would effectively be a 20mm eq. lens on 6x9.

Nikon Monochrom

Nikon Monochrom

A full-frame digital Nikon Monochrom.
Then if they don't do it : A Canon full-frame digital Monochrom
If this last don't do it : A Sony full-frame digital Monochrom.

What's the hell Japanese camera makers are still waiting for creating these cameras?

wishing for it everytime i takes it out but i still takes it out as of now. i think the CL is as close as it gets but it isn't that small. olympus xa doesn't count 😛 haven't tried the petri 35 yet.

Rollei 35S with built in rangefinder... apparently Rollei were working on the project but it got shelved.

Oh fun thread.

A 6x9 Roleiflex with a f3.5 /135-180mm Heliar lens.

An f2/50mm Hexar AF with 1/1000 shutter. and 1:1 finder.

Others probably but... those two .. Yes!
