Don't get me wrong - I want one! (I just cannot afford one.)
A question on the MLU - does the mirror come down when the battery dies? I use a camera with a mechanical MLU on telescopes and fisheye lenses for astronomy which often requires hours long exposures. (Not my F5 though, it's too big. My astrocam is an OM1n, which has mechanical MLU, and everything else for that matter.)
In fact let me generalize. How is the F6 with batteries - and what kind does it use? I find that the F5 does best with lithium double-a's, and not very well at all with rechargeable aa's.

Honestly I don't know, I have never tested it
But I suppose yes.

I am using mine exclusively with the MB-40 grip.
There are 8 AA batteries in it.
And I am using only the excellent rechargable Sanyo eneloops. At least three dozen rolls of film with one charge. It depends on much you use AF, high speed frame rate etc.
But so far I have got at least 36 rolls of films with one eneloop charge.
I am very satisfied with it. And the camera battery tester tells you early enough when the batteries are going empty.
Cheers, Jan

Cool Jan!
I'll start my F6 savings fund this payday. Everyone I know who has one, loves it.
