Joe,
At $300, you got a bargain. Enjoy and post some results.
i have this fear that someone is going to offer her the full price that she asked for and she will accept.
i'd run over there now but she's working till 5.

Well that's my D200 body basis for my S5Pro Fujifilm. That's pushing the anticipated shutter life a bit beyond it's estimated lifespan, but speaks well for the D200.
Still my primary digital body and will probably replace it with same, unless Fujifilm actually ever comes out with an S6Pro.
So, Why not look for a good clean S5Pro.
1) 12+ Megapixels interpolated
2) Somewhat higher dynamic range
3) Better treatement of whites and highlights, as evidenced by it's popularity in the wedding and portrait market
4) Better flesh tones
5) It will take all your current lenses. It's a Nikon F mount D200 body.
Live a little and enjoy more.
I thought about a D200 body as a backup, and used one from a friend for a couple of weeks. The Nikon can't produce the images that the S5Pro can with it's extended dynamic range and treatment of whites and highlights.
i don't use the video at all and rarely use high iso...i tend to max out the d90 at 800 iso most of the time.
As an ex-D200 owner, things start to go downhill in terms of noise after iso 400.
For what its worth, the battery life is worse on the D200 than the D90 I believe, so just be prepared for that too, otherwise the D200 is a fine camera.
i believe they use the same battery and i have 3 of them plus the one that will be in the d200.
after the rd1 most cameras seem to have incredible battery power.
Ha ha, yes, same battery as D90, so you're set. Found the D200 was always a 2 battery camera (spare for peace of mind), with the charge just draining steadily for no reason, so always good to have a spare, which you seem to have in abundance.
Here's my prediction:
Joe will soon realize what a semi-pro camera feels like compared to a consumer model (even a good one like D90). Then he'll sell the D90 and look for a used D300 as "the second body".

what would be the current range for a nikon d200?
i'm thinking of a second body...
Why not sell all your Nikon DX gear and go for a 5D (I)? Better image quality, better low light performance and finally "full frame" again.
Concerning the D200: Your D90 beats it in every way, except toughness.
My experience differs from what you folks have experienced. On my d200, I rarely charge the battery in less than three days of travel shooting. On the average, I normally shoot 100-150 shots a day during travels. And when I leave a half-used battery at home, it is still usable after several weeks. I am actually very surprised that the battery lasts that long.
