these should help a bit and they are only $3.50 and it covers the top and bottom plate ... sortof works like the i-pod cases only it really sort of disappears a bit more and has no noticable bulk

Have you used their product? What do you think? I haven't heard anything about this seller. Are there other more established vendors that sell this same product?

I haven't used the protectors...but i have gotten leather coverings for them and it was spectacular. The overseas shipping was quicker than many in country sellers and the leather was quality and cut to perfection...the prices are nice too since if i remember correctly the shipping is included.

Get an Ever-Ready Case. The ones for the M3 with "eyes" are heavy made. A little leather conditioner made this one look like new. It will be used for my M2, and I have another one for the M3. All Leather, my wife says she wishes purses were made so well.

Luckily I don't have your problem. I don't use cases or lens caps (all my lenses have filters tho) but I have two good canvas bags and I just use the freakin cams as they are. I got a new M7 last week and its beginning to look good - I put stickers on my cams to tell me the film & speed and such, that helps to take the shiny look off the new cam pretty quickly.

If you bought a US cam with a Passport don't forget you can get a free Leicavit from Leica USA when you register the cam. Flog the Leicavit and you have a much less expensive cam. 🙂

Hello:

I too have been interested in the film Chaser mentions. I left the film that came on the baseplate of my M6 on for 4 years. Then mistakendly took it off when it began to look ratty.

The various Leica grips protect the bottom plate as does a RRS Arca plate. The latter seems to improve the balance of the M6 (heresy).

I recently bought a 51 year old Leica that must have been cared for, and barely used. I wonder if the original owner intended to make me such a fine gift all these years later? I won't make that mistake.
