Greetings to all.

Last weekend, I noticed issues with my Bessa T and Minolta CL. With the Bessa T and any of my lenses (SW-Heliar 15mm f/4.5, Ultron 28mm f/1.8, and Pentax 43mm f/1.9), the camera would stop focusing. It would again focus if I either twisted any of the lenses' focus rings back and forth various times, or if I remounted the lens, but after a while the problem would repeat itself. The photos I took and got back from my local lab looked sharp; but then again, I only took the shots when the camera finally focused. BTW, this trip with the camera was the first time in over a year; the camera had been in storage. I had purchased the camera new a few years back. The metering was and still is accurate.

The CL's issue, which I purchased last month, was something I just noticed. When I focus it, the entire viewfinder "view" moves; not just the rangefinder patch, but the entire view. To put in context, when I focused, depending on the direction I was focusing, the exposure meter field narrows or widens. I don't know if I explained that properly, so bear with me. I have taken any photos with the CL since I've noticed it. Photos I took before were ok. I have a C.R.I.S. MR-9 adapter; but the meter is still off by at least a full stop.

Anyone have ideas what's going on?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. The Bessa T rangefinder can get stuck, there is a moving part with very little room over a flat surface. Add a little dust and it can get stuck. A pure mechanical issue.
Doesn't the CL have parallax correction? That could explain the whole frame moving.

I've never had any luck with CL meters. They've always been weird. Maybe for yours you just have to get it adjusted for modern batteries.

As for the moving viewfinder -- if it's the framelines that are moving then I believe Rob is correct. It's the paralax correction and it's completely normal and fully operational
