pros & cons of bessa L or T

I just ordered a L plus a 21 from Stephen. Can't wait to try it out.

Awesome!

I'll keep a watch to your flickr and wait for your photos to come!

Have fun!

Here is a photo taken last week when my daughter was here (in Warrensburg) on one of her rare visits. I used my Bessa L (one of three) with a Zenith Helios 0, 39mm F2 58mm with an extender from Killfit which matches it up perfectly with LTM cameras. This lens is a clone of the Zeiss Biotar. You will notice that I look exactly the same as I do in my avatar taken in 1961 except for the gray hair. Someone gave me the Yale shirt; I went to NYU. This picture was scanned from a print
and processed in Picassa2 which I got as a freebee with a lexar flash drive.

And I am finishing a Scotch and soda which might have caused the picture to be blurry. My wife took the photo after I set the camera.

She has my brains and her mother's looks except for my nose. Although she looks 15 or so she is 33 and an orthopaedic surgeon at Vanderbilit medical Center in Nashville.

I have a 25 and have used it with the L with great results technically if not artistically for which I have no one to blame but myself.

Kurt, nice job with the scale focus. Was it difficult with a 58mm lens? Did you use a viewfinder? I haven't the guts to try a VF-less Jupiter-8 50/2 on my Bessa L (yet).

Nice to see another Guinness drinker 🙂 . I prefer a properly poured pint but those draft cans are not bad at all.

Chris, I am pretty good with scale focus, although all the shots are not perfect.
With the 58mm Helios I use a 75mm CV viewfinder which does a pretty good job. I have a 50mm and 25mm viewfinder as well.

Chris, I take many photos with older cameras with 50mm lenses where either the RF is unusable or there is no RF. I'm prety good with judging distance probably from my baseball playing days (many years ago) because as a slow runner i needed to know distances to survive. However hyperfocal distance saves many a photo. On some other photos I shot with the L and the Helios I cheated a little as I had shot similar photos and measured the distance with my Fed 5. which I bought on Ebay two years ago for $41.00 incuding postage from the Ukraine. It works perfectly which must mean I am well regarded in heaven.

Hey why is everyone agaist the 25 ?

Have nothing against the 25, I think its not a focal lenght number that I am used to. But after reading this thread earlier, I actually looked into the 25... and it looks like something I would like considering 28 is my normal focal length.
