Hi all: My first post so be gentle 😱

I just got an R-D1 from another RFF member. I've been trying to get it to shoot Raw+Jpeg, but all I get is the raw file. I assume I should be getting a jpeg too - If I'm wrong there let me know.

I have the Raw setting in the settings menu set to Raw+Jpeg and I have the quality on the analog dial set to Raw. Is there something else I need to do to get the jpeg too? I did try a couple of different SD cards on the off chance that might be the problem. Also, I changed the Film setting from Film1 to Standard.

I searched the forum and found one reference to this from someone who reported the same issue. He also reported a few posts later that it was now working correctly, but wasn't sure why.

Any ideas?

it wouldn't work at first, then started working for no reason I could figure, and has worked perfectly since.

I did find, though, that the buffer fills quickly in the double mode, and so I went back to shooting RAW only.

Sorry this isn't more helpful--I'll be curious if someone has an actual explanation.

Ok. This is wierd. I just tried this again and now it works. When I checked the settings menu it was back at just Raw rather than Raw + jpeg. So it looks like operator error - although I went round this a few times.
