are you feeling unsure about your lens?
i have one but am not certain what you are asking for.
is it sharp? mine is very sharp.
i like the look of the chrome, the size and heft of the lens itself. it fits perfectly on my canon p.
until recently my main lens combo would be something like a 35 & 85/90/100 in that area.
i bought a bessa r with a 35 & then 75 and it was near perfect for me.
then i fell for the p and it's been infatuation ever since.
i traded for the 50/1.8 and it took some time to get used to it. the 50 seemed 'long' for an everyday street lens. i always seemed to be standing too close when i used it. yet it did not have the 'reach' of the 75. i have since gotten used to it and enjoy using it.
as for pics, you can check out my gallery , i'm not really sure what's there from the 50.
if you have a specific question...

I'll be getting one soon from Brian S. (I just have to pay him first.) I'll let you know in a week or so.

Just a couple days ago I was tracking one on the-bay, starting price $76, looked like a really nice one with untouched glass and minty barrel.
A couple hours later I refresh the page and it's GONE. Buy-It-Now for $100 when the BIN option wasn't available at all when I first checked the auction!
Grrr...
...
... that gives me a $100 cushion to spend on something else

Here's my example from a Canon 50/1.8 LTM lens. This one is an early one, made in that narrow window when they were first produced until just before the end of American Occupation. It lacks the "Serenar" name, but is otherwise identical to the rigid Serenar.
The film holder used here was a Fed-3a.

Here is my album taken with the Canon 50mm F1.8 that Joe now has. I bought this lens on "risk" as it was almost opaque and was being sold for parts. I managed to get to the elements closest to the aperture, and clean the haze off. The Canon glass is hard coated and it cleaned up very nicely. I had originally intended to use it with my "beater" Canon 7 that I managed to get working again. Now the two, camera and lens, will be re-united at last.
I have not put the late model Canon 50mm F1.8 on a camera; it is tucked away for Frank. If it is sharper than my Canon 50mm F1.4 (which I recently cleaned light haze out of) I DO NOT WANT TO KNOW!!!
