UK Region RFF EuroMeet 2011, London

I love to use someone's couch if possible, I'll bring the beer and a car if we want to visit the coutnryside. I also like to visit Silverprint.

About eight years ago I visited London with a small group and we hired a six bed room-with-shower (for four of us) in a backpacker hostel in Piccadilly. Maybe it is still there ? I can't remember the name of it, but it was a great location and even cheaper than a b&b. Errrrrm, not that I'm cheap or anything . . .
 
I'm going to look into hostel prices around April time as it looks like that will be a cheaper option over two or three days than getting the train in and out - a return from where I live (only 1hr 15 away) can cost over £70:eek:. Whereas a hostel will allow me to forget about getting home and spend that £70 on a couple of London priced pints :D If I save a possible £210 on train fare I may even have enough money to get a bit giggly on the bevvies
 
I missed the previous meetings but I will join this time!! Count me in, and also a friend!
The dates are already fixed 6-8May?? We'd like to book the plane tickets asap...

However, I would like to wait to see what Nico says about coming - after all, he is El Commandante.
 
Seems like I've got some of my final exams at that time. Going to make my "Abitur" (that's how we call it in Germany) this year... Would have been nice, but oral exams are supposed to be in first weeks of May. Have fun!

Hello, yup, definitenly the weekend 7-8 May.

For anyone coming eariler - perhaps we do what we did the last couple of years and get in cars and see what we find on the Friday/Thursday?
 
I just booked the family trip to Barcelona and we are back on Thursday. so, I can drive to London on the Friday. If I have any cash left.
We'll see. A couch is very helpful.

The British weather Gods are even more fickle than the Greek bunch, sacrifices are wasted on them...better to bring fast and slow film and a good pub guide ;)

6th-8th May eh?! Better get my diary out, looking forward to seeing old faces and new.
 
Don't get too excited Simon - it's over four months away!

I'll see if I can have that weekend off and perhaps the Friday (and perhaps perhaps the Thursday) too.
