RFF Euromeet 2015 - Heidelberg, May 30th/31st

Don't worry about the quiet phase here, there simply isn't that much to discuss right now.

We have 8 voters which I'm hoping will all attend plus 2 to 3 extra people jumping the wagon after he vote was closed (one of which is you).

So I think we are doing pretty good, compared to last year...

Two weeks ahead of the event I will start bugging people about giving me their private contact details, so I can send around a list for all the participants via PM or e-mail...

It's good that you are such an optimist :D

My plan is to arrive on friday afternoon.

i also think you are being optimistic...
my flight arrives friday at 1850 to frankfurt airport. i guess i'll join you between 21 and 22h :)

The good thing about being an optimist is that you are not easily thrown off course by pessimists and realists... :D

I'm trying to slap something together, but I haven't done it for a while, so bear with me...

PS: I've just been putting down your suggestions so far for the sights that we could visit.

@6x7: do you know where the cruise boats take passengers? I was on those 3 web sites you linked and have a hard time finding that info.

I'm also looking for a good place to have a beer (or wine, and dinner) on Friday night, preferably with the option to sit outside...

So far I've been looking on Tripadvisor, but do the locals have any good hints here?

if you are looking for a good German restaurant, I recommend:
Alt Hendesse
Mühltalstr. 4
69121 Heidelberg
Germany

It is Handschuhsheim, another beautiful old town worth checking out.
Make your reservation early if you decide to go there.

There is an old Bayern bar in old town Heidelberg that I would recommend for drinks. But I need to go check out the name first.

Report back shortly.

Booked a Hotel without breakfast. Taking breakfast together in a cool location (like in Prague) would be nice.

Well, I hope we have that base covered with Cafe Gundel. Don't know about cool, but it does have the official "RFF Member Approved" stamp... ;-)

Only two weeks now

Only two weeks now

The time is getting closer, everyone, and therefore I would like to prepare the list of contacts, so that we can find each other when we are on location. This list will be sent to all participants by PM when it is complete.

Here's a list of everybody who somehow stated their intention of coming (either by voting or by posting on this thread):

biogo
javabean
Lavertezzo

P3tr
reaperman
splash_fr
tom.w.bn
jane7l

Matus
kossi008

From the above list, people in red have not PM'ed me any details yet (it's OK if you don't want to do that, but please let me know).

For those people in orange, I have simply taken the contact data from the 2013 contact sheet by MartinP, and I'm hoping that those e-mail-adresses and phone numbers still work. Please let me know if anything has changed since then.

If anyone changed their plans and cannot make it, please also let me know; likewise, if I forgot to include anybody, please speak up.

I'm a bit surprised. When I look at this thread and the amount of participation I expected to have 4-5 people on the list...

What can I say? I'm an optimist (as you pointed out), but I'm not naive enough to think that everybody on the list will actually show up... I'm hoping for 50% or so... :D
