Hiya,

does anyone else have trouble uploading images? Tried both via a URL and then straight upload of a file. System tells me that everything went fine, but I do not get the page on which you can name the image and give info about equipment etc, nor does the photo appear in my gallery...

Anyone experienced something similar?

cheers!

Jani

Anyone?

Not that this is critical, I'm sure everyone can live without my photographs, just wondering how other people manage to upload...

It seems to be up and down. Doug was able upload photos yesterday. Send a PM to MP Guy describing the exact messages or problems you are getting. He asked for that feedback a day or so ago so he could figure it out.

Problems for me as well. A Message says The image was uploaded successfully and then, re-directs me to my gallery page but, there was no upload. It happens quickly after clicking the submit "button" no hesitation or squirrel caging going on. Uploading from flickr URL .

As well as upload problem as described by others, I also get a problem of some previous already uploaded image gets stuck in the upload queue. Resulting in having to submit the duplicates.

I then have to delete the multiple copies.

[Additional notes added thanks to Doug's reminder below - thanks Doug]

Yes, this happened after a failed upload then followed by a successful upload of the same pics. Then a following upload would have the previous unsuccessful upload in the queue.
Browser = Chrome
OS = Windows XP & 7
File size = ~150KB
no more than 4 files

Sorry I cannot remember what error messages - next time I will provide screen dump.

Kyte, does this happen after a failed upload, then followed by a successful upload of the same pics, then a subsequent upload of other pics shows the same previous ones awaiting? I hope that makes sense, but I'm guessing that the pics appearing unexpectedly in the queue may be those stuck there in the unsuccessful/incomplete upload.

And please note Stephen's questions... :)

please supply more info

what browser?
what operating system?
what file size?
how many files?

any error messages?
exactly what happens step by step?

Stephen

OK, hope this helps.

Using Safari via Lion I only ever upload one image at a time.
1. click "Upload Photos" button on top RH corner of main member gallery page.
2. Paste in copied image address from Flickr into field : "Retrieve all images from a URL:" (Medium 640 image for example this one is the last I tried and had a failure to upload: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7004/6570165519_e9e743cab0_z.jpg

3.Click "Submit/Upload" button at the bottom of image upload page.

4. This message appears instantly:http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7019/6572798333_6733b428e8_o.png

5. I am re-directed to my Member gallery page but the image is not uploaded.

This has been the workflow for the last year or so when I upload to the rff gallery.
Usually the image is uploaded and the re-direct went to a screen where the image can be named and info for the photo can be input before clicking a final submit button.

Again hope this helps. If you find this may be a location or my ISP dependent issue and would like me to try again to test it please let me know.

I just made a change that may help. lets see what happend. This stupid software uploads all files into a queue then moves them to the destination location. The queue was not a shared location so if you uploaded something then bounced to a different webserver, it would not be there. I have mad a common nfs share for the queue to be shared by both web servers.

Latest Chrome on OS X Lion. I don't get any error messages at all, just get put through the two info screens that have auto-redirects and end up in my gallery with the uploaded picture not there.

Try it now. If it works I may be narrowing down the problem.
