I have been having alot of problems uploading in the last week or so. Sometimes the the image is not in the gallery after the uploader says 'upload successful' and often there is in error about creating thumbnails.
I am using Mac 10.6 safari.
However i have just successfully uploaded to the site without problems so the problem seems intermittent.

Still getting the same silly error message. I have deleted most of my attachments assuming there was a storage issue and the error tells me the reduced size now exceeds my limit.
I am using Safari 5.1.2 on a 15" MacBook Pro.

Ok,
So I took the picture from your link and saved it to my computer. I logged in as you and tried to upload the picture.
The first error message I received was that the file was too large. I then removed the file limit of 200k form the gallery and uploaded the same picture again. This time it went through without any issues.
This software does not do a good job of informing people when there is something warning with the file being uploaded. It sucks.
Also, according to the people that wrote the software, you cannot put a link to a photo as a url to upload that photo. It was not intended to work that way.
Jani,
check your email for your new password. Feel free to reset it again.

So does this mean that there is no way to upload a photo from flicker/etc.. regardless of image size?

Hey, thanks man, at least now we know what the problem is.
In the past the software did let you know whether a file was too large. That seems the be the crux of the issue here...
Also, I have always uploaded via using a direct link to an externally hosted image file. I wonder why that piece of functionality has stopped working?
Furthermore, and I know this is slightly beside the point in this discussion: I think the 200k limit on photos is ridiculous and goes back to the 1990s to be honest. This effectively means that I cannot post colour photos even in the smaller medium flickr size here, but have to re-compress them before posting here. I understand that there probably has to be a limit, but 200k is way too small. It would be wonderful to see photos slightly larger anyway, as there are many quality photographers here and looking at their work at 0.2-0.4 megapixel size is irritating anyway...
Here is a direct quote from the guy who wrote the software
As far as file sizes go, that is up to Stephen to decide. I'mm just the fixer upper guy.
That feature is designed to look for image tags in an html page. Your trying to direct it to an image which is why it does not work.

Upload still not working
Any chance someone is working on this? I have reported this problem shortly after the major crash last year and it still is not working. All I get is an error message stating that whatever the file size is exceeds the limit. I am currently at 263.7kb...
Thanks,
Bob

Yes...for an individual file...not for a total of all files.

I just uploaded a few pics to the gallery, but it seems that I can't do it in the post. It keeps telling me I am over my quota.
