They are great cameras, I have had 4 of them (2 v1, 1 v3, 1 v4). I ended up taking nice shots with them but every time I got a nice frame, I had wished it were on film so I could print it! That's why I ended up giving them up. I would like a GR1 for film someday.

I am getting so much addicted to my GRDIII that the only possible step upwards for me seems to be the GRX instead of NEX or Fujis... or stay with film.

Just acquired my backup GXR (mint, boxed, plus Gorilla glass) for $229. So yes, at that price, getting at least one GXR makes sense, though it really is no replacement for the GRD--the GXR's dedicated 28mm module is slower and bigger. But with the M mount, it's a David in a Goliath world.
If you want your GRD to widen its versatility, though, the Ricoh 21mm add-on lens makes a lot of sense for not much $$. It's bulky, but relative to the GRD body, a tiny inconvenience.

Unless GRD V has:
- Optical viewfinder like its ancestor GR1
- Bluetooth or wifi image transfer
- Perceptibly bigger sensor
I'm going to be happy with IV for a long, long time.
I can't comment on the "fair price" question 😀

You will...buy...a GRD. Loving mine since I got it a couple weeks (ish?) ago. Seriously a fun camera. Always ready. Check out the dynamic tones I got at ISO 1600. Mine's a GRDI. Most of the recent pictures on my blog have been with the GRD. Check it out!

Niice! And thanks! Just posted some more a minute ago. Experimenting with the flash on the GRD has been fun. It's not exactly spot on every time, but when it's on it does pretty well for a dinky onboard flash.
