I recently bought an M8. After using an RD1 for several years, I am wondering what to do with my right thumb to keep it in shape? Some people have suggested buying a BlackBerry.

no use for your thumb anymore. throw it away.

Having used the cocking lever to hold the camera in my hand when not in use for years, I was happy to find out the R-D1 still had a cocking lever. Holding a camera without one (like my Eos 300D or any P&S) simply doesn't invite me carrying it ready-to-shoot in my hand.
So, don't throw away your thumb. Throw away that M8. Throw it my way, if you will.

The blackberry is good solution; you know they also call it crackberry because you get addicted. I have a new addiction with the M8... we are going to have to find a name for this too...

I used an RD1 as well, and found the M8 a little slippery to hold. Soon got the grip for the M8, which, because of the way your fingers grasp it, gives you some use for an opposable thumb.
