RIP Tom A

What a terrible message you brought us. Tom was the pepper and salt of RFF. What a loss to this community and photography as a whole. He will be missed, but not forgotten.

Very sad news.

I only knew of Tom through reading his posts and viewing his pictures here, but through those words and pictures shone the kindness and generosity of the man.

My condolences to his family.

Tom was a Photographer, Inventor, Engineer, Chemist, and Creator, to name just a few of his many gifts. I had the privilege of being on the receiving end of his wisdom and kindness, and for that I'll be eternally grateful.

My condolences to Tuulikki and his family.

I corresponded with him a couple of times seeking advice, and he was always patient pointed me in the right direction. It saddens me deeply to have heard of his passing.

You will be missed a lot Tom. And, yes I'll cherish that soft release on my M6 forever.

I never met Tom or corresponded with him...

But I did very much appreciate and looked forward to seeing
his thoughts and stories.

I am sad because of this loss to Tuulikki, RFF and the world.

Thank you Tom for Soft releases, rapidwinders and sharing your love of photography.
And your love of M-2's

Tuulikki my thoughts and prayers are with you..

Tom A - RIP

David

Very sad news. Tom was a resource of global scope for rangefinder users everywhere and for those of us in Vancouver he was a local icon with a smile and a kind voice. I will miss him.

The replies here are a testimony to Toms importance to this community, he will be missed. I wish everybody close to him the strength they need.

Not sure if this is possible Moderators, but if so I think it would be a nice gesture:

Modify the home page so the "Photos From the Gallery" so Tom A's pics for the next few days. Would be a nice gesture and fine tribute. I would recommend this for when any RFF member passes. What better way to remember them.

What a shock, I am so sorry to hear that. I will miss speaking with him at the swaps, and seeing him around town. Very sad news.
