Rick, that's very nice.
I have had two in the past - a very nice one which I was foolish enough to sell here (Frank S, possibly?) and another, rougher one that died when I fell on the ice a couple of winters ago - the casting on the back of the lens lost a couple of lugs, so the lens would not lock in the shooting position. I sold it to someone who had one with different damage so he could produce one working camera. I just love the 40mm Sonnar "look" and wish I could get the same effect on the Leica somehow. They used to call these the "mountaineer's" camera, which is why I had one in the first place 🙂
I recently picked up another black one - it was described as "collector condition" but arrived with a few "waves" in the top plate. Apart from that, it is in very good condition - all the corners are still the same shape as when they were made, which is unusual and the meter responds to light, but I have not had chance to test it yet. I'm making a PX625 adapter for it, and hope to be shooting with it next week. I have given up on C41 as there is nowhere near me to process it, so it will probably be Kodak XX or Fuji 400 that I can soup in cafeenol at home.
