Rollei 35 pictures

got her back about a week and a half ago, and it's quite a bit smoother, but still has a distinct resistance point and then a *psSSHHTTKKKKCKCKC* -- but quite improved, along with the weight of the focus throw.

looking forward to running some color film through her back in Boston

Here is mine, during my last visit in September 2014 to Bosotn Massachussetts:

This is from my friend Miles Prescott on the sight of the Mayflower in Plymouth, MA, made with my freshly repaired Rollei 35S, and this one is of myself:

Ah Rick, you have a 35S too?

Well, following Zeno's adventures with his S for over a year now has convinced me and I have taken the plunge and obtained another 35S after a few years away :)

I might have a T for sale shortly.........

I picked it up at the last Dutch Photographica Market, slow speeds were off, but I managed to get those back on track with a little lubrication. The 40mm f/2.8 Sonnar is very nice.
Unforatunately for this first roll, I loaded the wrong battery; I thought it was a PX625, but it was a PX625A. So the meter was off. I only picked up on this when it said I needed 1/500th at f/22 where Sunny F/16 told me to use 1/125 at f/16 :(
Hence pushing the film a bit.

Love the compactness and the fine machining that went into these cameras :)

Got it loaded with a correct voltage battery now and some Fuji C200 film.

Rick, that's very nice.

I have had two in the past - a very nice one which I was foolish enough to sell here (Frank S, possibly?) and another, rougher one that died when I fell on the ice a couple of winters ago - the casting on the back of the lens lost a couple of lugs, so the lens would not lock in the shooting position. I sold it to someone who had one with different damage so he could produce one working camera. I just love the 40mm Sonnar "look" and wish I could get the same effect on the Leica somehow. They used to call these the "mountaineer's" camera, which is why I had one in the first place :)

I recently picked up another black one - it was described as "collector condition" but arrived with a few "waves" in the top plate. Apart from that, it is in very good condition - all the corners are still the same shape as when they were made, which is unusual and the meter responds to light, but I have not had chance to test it yet. I'm making a PX625 adapter for it, and hope to be shooting with it next week. I have given up on C41 as there is nowhere near me to process it, so it will probably be Kodak XX or Fuji 400 that I can soup in cafeenol at home.

Hi John! Yes I still have the S bought from you. Don't use it much because of other cameras, but it's not going anywhere. :)

Hi Frank,

Well, you can tell I miss it - the replacement I "had" to buy died when I fell on ice a couple of winters ago. I bought a TE to replace that as I couldn't afford a good S at the time, but I only used it once and put it in the drawer (where it still sits).

Having largely gone digital earlier this year, I recently realised how much I like using film in small cameras, so another S has been obtained, along with an Oly XA2 on its way from the giveaway here. I have even dusted off my Lomo LC-A. Really looking forward to burning some film :D
