Ruben kidnapped by the aliens?

Hi Pitxu,

Herry Batasuna !

(Although I am mispelling it for sure, like in my Heblish, I hope the contents overcome the form.}

AND THROUGH PITXU, I EXTEND MY GREETINGS TO ALL FRIENDS AT RFF. I AM VERY MUCH ALIVE AND MOOVING MY TAIL. THAK YOU ALL FOR YOUR CONCERN.

Cheers,
Ruben

Reuben - out of curiosity... do you need to wear your glasses in order to use the Rollei?

If so, then the lynx may still make a good companion, since you won't need to remove/replace your glasses when switching between rollei and lynx.

just a thought. :)

Glad to see you are indeed alive and well.

Ha! An odlie, but a goodie! I have used that quote myself.

When we were in Loix I was sure it should be 'l-wa-sh', but my good lady wife wasn't supportive. Great photo oportunities there! I scared her silly in the gorges getting there but the local drivers were crazy. I had to keep up! :)

Very, very close Murray. Pee tchoo.

But I will respond to a variety of names,
call me what you like, but don't call me late for my dinner.:D

I was the one who told him where the Gallery was...

I like his style with words and with photos. He's a one off. And all the better for it.

Hi Roberto,

It is quite possible, since my user Kievs are model 4AM, whose winding is by nature less smooth than models from the sixties and earlier I do have.

Neverteless, my 4AMs wind smooth enough as to enable me winding as conspicuously as 1 meter in front of my subject - an unknown possibilty for any other lever winding rangefinder - plus some additional measure of smoothness, good enough to please my taste.

Of course circular knob winding is much slower than lever winding, and here you have again the endless paradox of the Kiev/Contax design vis a vis others.

Many thanks for your greetings.

Saludos,
Ruben

Hi Rogue,

Incidentally, my Rollei sample enables me to get a very sharp focus using my glasses, either with the supporting enlarging lens of the waist level finder from 0 cm up to around 30 cm, or without it. The Rollei vision is fantastic.

So you are right in that the Lynx 14 could make a very good companion. But it is precisely the combination of my standard wearing glasses and the Lynx viewfinder which is not sharp enough, unfortunately.

Many thanks for your greetings,
Ruben
