My M5s need red dots!
They're coming to the end of their useful lives...
Or their owners are in dire need of 700 billion bucks.

everything is temporary..
I'm selling my unique one on evil bay and in the classifieds. Maybe because 3 major manufactures came out with full-frame digital at half the price of the M8.2 and they're able to afford them if the sell the leica stuff?

And the letter M is the 13th in the English alphabet. You may have something there.

Maybe this is a conspiracy to collect all M6's now and then resell them for $5000 each later on.

M6 owners have been brainwashed into thinking their cameras are inferior by M2 owners?

This is getting depressing.Do I keep it or do I sell it before the market drops out. This is as bad as the stock market.

Don't feel too bad. There were a bunch of Canon 7s for sale in Classifieds recently (including mine)... and prices were, uh, great for buyers... These things go in cycles...

Actually, no. M6 classic production was about 130,000 units with approximately 60,000 M6TTL cameras produced.
There were ~230,000 M3s produced (the highest production M).
As to the question, I think it has been answered already. More users are moving to digital and selling off their film cameras. Leica M film cameras are becoming a thing for collectors - and the M6 is not a collectable.

The M6 0.85 only had a run of just over 3100 units

BTW - the M7 is being discontinued and the MP will soon only be available through the a-la-carte program.

Wow - that's kind of a shocker. Where did you hear the news, Bill?
